For mine - Brown will be used in the back row with Scott, Edwards, Ma'u, Moeroa now we have signed Matagi. Brown replaces Watmough IMO.

Depth will be considerable. The Wenty side next year will be very capable.
What do you even mean by 'back row'? It's an outdated concept. There are two edge forwards and three middle forwards, plus a dummy half. The bench will comprise a combination of these, with at least two middle forwards.

I think we'll definitely lose someone we'd rather keep. I'm glad it wasn't Ma'u. I'm sort of hoping Radrada gets rubbed out of the game so we don't have to see him play against us. But I think Moeroa will be the one to leave. Keen to see what happens with Gutherson too.
Gutho knows his price has gone up. Our salary cap is very, very healthy but it's whether we're willing to pay the price that everyone wants.

I agree to a large extent but I still think there's still some distinction from lock to prop. I.e. mannah won't ever wear the 13, and back row and lock are more likely to be interchangeable.

Agreed. And if we can only offer Gutherson a spot in the outside backs from 2018 onwards then we shouldn't be willing to offer as much as a club that are looking at him to play fullback or (God forbid) in the halves.

There are certainly different attacking roles in the middle (proven by differences in runs per minute, and how frequently a middle forward passes the ball), and the need for at least one big yardage monster (usually defensive liabilities) on the field at a time requires two or three smaller forwards (including the hooker) to cover for the big merkin's lack of mobility. Edge forwards can shift into the middle and play this role well, as does a second hooker. But edge forward and middle forward are very different roles, so calling a player a 'back rower' is sloppy. Terepo, Wicks and Mannah are hard working, mobile defenders in the middle but you will never find them defending on the edges.

Out of semi, gutherson and Moeroa, I'd say semi is the one that will go. Many players have signed an extension not wanting to test the open market. I dare say semi is high on our list of priorities, and I'm sure we've offered him an extension, but no doubt he's willing to see his worth with a rival club.

It's funny, every article that comes out about Parra the headline is something along the lines of this. How many of these headlines do we have to get/ how many months have to pass before we see the end and something along the lines of "More great news for Parra"?

We win the comp

"At least it's good news for Parra fans"

Agree ... i think semi (and his manager) has more loyalty to his wallet then most other players

Semi is probably the one who should be signing a contract ASAP. As we all know there is a fair chance in a few weeks he may be rubbed out of the game for a while, and his chances of getting a visa for Europe footy may be nil.

Bennett has probably told him he'll end up as the Aussie coach and if he comes to Brisbane then he'll make sure he's selected

I reckon with our forward signings and potentially frankie coming, someone is leaving.

I know Gower has said he is staying but I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves for the UK.

Surely whatever contract he signs could be cancelled in an instant if he is found guilty.

Corrected. Hope you don't mind.
Im sure there are plenty who are all about $s ... and thats fine, its their job and they need to make a living .... and as already said, his upbringing would have something to do with it ... us fans love footy and the eels - players do it as a job
