They lost out on the DCE contract. And went into the season with apparently almost 1 mill under cap. And these guys left this season. Lets assume Hayne eats that 1 mill up. Id say they be fine.

Outs -
Hoffman - Would of been on a decent contract
Bird - Straight swap for proctor
Mortimer
Mcdonald
Mead

Ins
Hurrell
Hayne
Peats
Proctor

Jarryd Hayne in school pornography gaffe
Published: November 7, 2016 - 1:59PM

NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne has been caught in an embarrassing pornography gaffe while presenting an online safety talk at a Gold Coast high school.

Hayne's online browsing history was being shown on a screen at the school, featuring mostly sports images, when a pornographic website was displayed on the screen to the 200-plus students in attendance at Robina State High School.

Norton Security, on whose behalf Hayne was presenting the talk, said afterwards the images had come from another device that had entered the network.

"It's unfortunate and all I can say (is) it definitely was not Jarryd's device," Hayne's co-host from Norton, Nick Savvides, said.

"Connecting to open networks, people can see what you're doing and in this case, inject unwanted materials."

Hayne was shocked by the appearance of the images, which remained on the screen for a number of seconds and included lewd acts and a topless woman.

"It was (awkward)," he said

"I shut my phone straight away so that way I was logged off.

"Wow."

It was not believed Hayne was due to give any further talks at other schools.

The demo has been shown before at a number of talks elsewhere without Hayne and Mr Savvides claimed such an issue had not arisen before.

He also said they would be unable to ascertain exactly whose device the website had come from.

Hopefully it's Manly for the lols.
That's actually who I was thinking tbh. Big money deals for DCE, Walker, Taupau, Stewart, trbojsvdhfudbrhshsbdhfudbdhdbic brothers....released a few recently....Matai "volunteers" his retirement...

It's probably just wishful thinking lol.

why are you believing the f**king Derper?

I hear you, but as I said, "I never, ever take the Lurker's post seriously, but this seems like a can't miss tip, right?"
I just think salary cap conversations are relatively objective.

For the record, I disagree if anyone thinks it's the Titans, they lost DCE (effectively), Bird and have two rookie halves. Yes they signed Hayne, Hurrell, Peats and Proctor but they would still be flush with space.

I'm calling Manly for win. I'd wager Souths for the place.

The only reason I think it's the Titans is that they are the team mentioned in the headline to the article.
yeah fair enough, but if you read the article, it says they're just trying to move on Tyrone Roberts as they have too many halves. still, I take your point. I certainly wouldn't put it past the Sporting News/Lurker to be so clumsy.

Yeh, The Lurker could also just have got 'the wrong end' of the rumours going round and picked the wrong club.

I never, ever take the Lurker's post seriously, but this seems like a can't miss tip, right?

One club has got itself in such a financial mess with the salary cap that it's hard to see how they could possibly sign another player before the 2016 season starts.

In fact, they will be busy offloading players.

Their plight is the talk of player agents and CEOs throughout the game and is a real worry for the club and the NRL.

It will all come out in the wash very soon but player managers are steering their clients well clear of the joint for now.

Any guesses as to which club? If the right player were to come available, our pockets are still very deep for 2017, even more so for 2018.

Canberra?

Hope it's not us... we've got something like 42 decent enough players in our "squad", the depth seems much better than I've ever remembered it.

Is the depth of the current squad we have for 2017 really any better than the squad we started 2016 with?

If you look at the whole 42 or whatever players, I think so.

If you limit it to the top 17... with th eloss of Foran, Paulo, Peats, arguably Watmough, then perhaps not.

I was going to say that Matagi and Vave are in for Paulo and Mannah however Timmy is 29 next year.

Assume Tepai & Semi to move on ? I say that because I think the market might want to pay more than we think they are worth.
