I have no issue in the coach picking Jake provided they have a plan for Gutho and Reed and Brown to step up in attack. If they pick Jake he will be like Dylan in the early years and just play a link role and second choice kicker.

I am warming to Gutho to 6 and Russell (not Perham) to fulback, but either way it’s a bandaid.

Manly cant afford a loss. Their home record is one of the best in the NRL. Missing Moses hurts us considerably .... I cant see us winning unfortunately

The real point is, that we are also in a position where we can't afford to lose. Missing Tommy Trbo hurts them considerably more. We have a better squad than them. The fact that a lot of people, including myself, probably can't see us winning is the real issue here. We just have to win though. We're just making excuses if we get beaten. It's time everyone in the joint stood up and delivered.

Apparently Moses talk on the field is something that wlll also be missed. As far as I'm aware, there is no restrictions on the blue shirt being on the field whilst we have the ball. Is there any reason why we can't play Moses in the blue shirt and just continue with his talk on the field in attack?

He's only got a broken finger, he can carry a water bottle in the other hand.

You are right if suggesting Sam Walker is horrid - and they have had a long time to try and hide him and develop schemes around him.
He offers a lot more in attack than Jake at the moment.

The game looks too fast for Jakey. He needs half a season to see if he can get up to speed, I assume that us why his kicking has been bog average in firsts?

I honestly think Gutho to 7 and someone else at FB might be better given the context of the season. Put Jake on the bench the rest of the season and he can then cover the whole backing and hooker (either to half and shuffle Gutho or give Reed a spell)
It might work out well, Jake might get the time he needs to catch up to the speed of firsts

I’m not comparing Arthur to Cleary now. I’m comparing them when they were both starting off. Cleary was always a strong defender even when he started in first grade. I never saw Cleary have defensive lapses like Arthur does despite what the tackle efficiency numbers may say.

No doubt he would have because it's a learned skill.
