I don’t like this practice of top clubs picking at the carcasses of the lower ranked clubs to strengthen their sides before the finals. I hope the NRL stops this bullshit. In saying that as an Eels fan I hope we do get Klemmer but I recognise the fact that it’s ruining the integrity of the game.
Happening now in the MLB except the club who is letting a player go gets compensation by giving up some prospects

You would think Klemmer would fall into the category of at least 50% of the players in the NRL.

Good Player in a Good Team, Shit Player in a Shit Team.

He probably has more upside and longevity than Taupau.
Article I think infers he will return to Newcastle next year.

Happens in NBA, NFL, NHL, and to an extent FIFA. NRL isn’t anywhere near those levels though, plus there’s still some physical barriers for players moving from for example North Queensland to Bondi

The Parramatta Eels are making a last-ditch bid to sign Knights veteran Dave Klemmer for the rest of the season.

The club has until midnight today to convince the Knights to release the former Kangaroos forward for the remainder of the season.

Parramatta had originally tried to sign Marty Taupau from the Manly Sea Eagles but it was rejected by coach Des Hasler
[1/8, 4:02 pm] Sam: Newcastle coach Adam O’Brien is meeting with club officials this afternoon to make a call on the release request.

Klemmer is on an $800,000-a-year deal at the Knights, which runs until the end of next season.

So we'd be playing $200k for 5 weeks + semis for Klemmer ? This is your fault Oregon & Emu . WTF happened to you both ?
