If you actually read what I post, you will note that I have stated this week that a) our regular halfback is being held together with sticky tape, so I get why a back up needed to be considered vs Raiders b) that unless Jake puts on the kegs significantly to his already big frame, I think his future lies in Super League.

I've not criticized JA but have his selection, and the 15 player option BA picks, because I believe our forwards need to be rested to maintain high intensity. Now this might work against the weaker teams but I don't think it is the right option for the next 2 (or 1) game/s. Cows to be played in high heat and humidity and if we win we just need the full 17 players to beat Panthers.

You might be right. Or wrong.

Both the Cows and the Eels seem to use 15 players of late and only use 16 and 17 when required.

For what it’s worth BA played Carty in NT and both Makka and Carty played 19mins each. We got wooped in that match too.

If it aint broke, then don’t fix it comes to mind. Wins vs Storm and Raiders seems to suggest this. But what would I know.

Can you imagine how Jakob Arthur would be feeling, with these accusations of nepotism being thrown around?

Whether you like Jake as a player or not, he's done nothing wrong; he has given 100% every time he has put on our jersey, and this report comes out, and declares that senior players are pissed that he's getting selected...

I can't imagine how he must be feeling.

I'm actually very impressed that he was able to put that aside, and perform quite solidly last night.

Due to their great defence they’ve had a lot of big wins this year, so it would only be worth looking at their close wins (and losses). It’s easy to throw garbage minutes at a reserve grader when the result isn’t in doubt. Arthur’s does it too.

It's dissapointing that Under 20s and NSW CUP aren't on the same week as NRL GRAND FINAL.

Penrith are in the grand final for both. They also won the SG BALL. It would be an enormous effort if they took out all 4 grades. Almost unheard of.

Agree. People say they'll drop off next year. I mean they may but they obviously are stacked.
Like I said I have been told we have nothing in lower grades coming through of any great quality for about 2-3yrs

You can buy a team in less time than that. We’ve had more luck improving cheap nuffies from other clubs than poaching juniors and trying to keep them. You can build a team with mercenaries but you don’t build a culture with them, however building with juniors is very expensive.

It’s like Sharp said when talking about salary cap laundering through TPAs, you might need to spend $300k outside the cap to realise a thirty grand benefit under it. It’s the same with trying to beat the cap with loyal juniors. Building the program that gets you the most genuine candidates early enough costs a lot of money outside the cap. Far more than the realised salary cap benefit. It is a type of money laundering.

We used to have a club championship once. You’d get points awarded for your club performance across U23s, Reggies and Firsts. A was shield awarded and it was quite prestigious. Dunno what happened to it, does anyone know ?
