Me neither but surely the coach knows better?

Either way, bringing him back on or leaving him off carried risk. Managing that risk is up to the experts.
I actually agreed with bringing him off

if only to counter any suggestion from the media of recurrent HIA symptoms

If anyone likes to play the Long game….

2023 premiership market is now open

don’t see our odds getting higher than this, and likely to come in considerably if we win on friday

$12-$15 is always a good start of season price for us.

Even if we win the next game or two, I don't think the 2023 price will get any shorter, unless we announce a signing or two?

You might be right. Or wrong.

Both the Cows and the Eels seem to use 15 players of late and only use 16 and 17 when required.

For what it’s worth BA played Carty in NT and both Makka and Carty played 19mins each. We got wooped in that match too.

If it aint broke, then don’t fix it comes to mind. Wins vs Storm and Raiders seems to suggest this. But what would I know.
f**k all really.
Probably about the same as me but played Cows in high heat and humidity. But playing 17 players at least gives the team the best chance to win by giving critical players a rest to maintain their high intensity which I consider a good strategy. All our forwards, particularly our middles, were gassed by the 50 min mark in Panthers match and had nothing left. Without our middles firing we're a lame duck and Penrith don't seem to tire unless you control the ball and continually bash them.

This week I predict JA will be dropped and another forward promoted to bench, hopefully Nrown eager to show everybody why he'd be a good buy for them. And for BA to use 17 players as we'll need it with Cows speed and the venue and climate suiting them.

I also want to say how disgusted I am that some lowlife would leak Nathan Brown's report.

Can you imagine how Jakob Arthur would be feeling, with these accusations of nepotism being thrown around?

Whether you like Jake as a player or not, he's done nothing wrong; he has given 100% every time he has put on our jersey, and this report comes out, and declares that senior players are pissed that he's getting selected...

I can't imagine how he must be feeling.

I'm actually very impressed that he was able to put that aside, and perform quite solidly last night.
The report was talking about lower grades pathways and not the NRL team so not about JA at all. All the journo's knew this but blew this story up to make it about JA and not nepotism in promoting poorer players at expense of better ones in the juniors.

Be 8nteresting to see if the Sharks and Cowboys end up with a harder draw next year because they finished higher this year.

Im unsure where the Sharks are going to improve. I reckon they might have overachieved this year. Moylan seemed to lift, dunno if he can sustain it. Hynes is good but i dunno if will ever be a great half.

Cows have some seriously good young talent. I can see them being a force going forward.

Sharks had a few good players out. I think they have a solid nucleus. You never know what stars they have popping up in juniors. But agree. They could drop off next season and it wouldn't suprise.
There are sides who didn't play finals this year that could come on a lot next year. Sides like Manly,Dogs,Brisbane, Dragons I reckon are all capable teams who have potential to improve.
Then there are current sides who knows. Injuries could cripple anyone.

Panthers just have such a strong core and junior base I see them as the new powerhouse. Potentially could take out every grade having already one SG ball.

Roosters I imagine will be dynamite adding B.Smith and who do they lose? But they have key players prone to head knocks. Keary cops one and its season over. Plus young Walker still lacks a good kicking game.

Storm may finally have had enough. As tough as they are they lose Kafusi and B.Smith and some of their forwards are getting old. But the big thing is opposition don't fear them anymore. I think the fact Canberra have beaten them 5 or 6 times in a row in Melbourne shows a bit of a flaw in their game.

how does the head knock rules go with MM being taken off two weeks in a row ?

Passed his HIA, so no worries.

No penalty for Wighton's head slam, yet to see if he gets cited, but imagine a protocol that puts a player out for an elimination final, with no penalty for the guy that causes it.

Sounds awful like something the NRL would do TBH.

Scumbag journalism, isn't it?

Hopefully because he passed the second HIA and returned to the field, it doesn't have any cumulative rules effect...

But if he gets targeted/fails a HIA this game, we might be in trouble.

I was proud of little Mahoney getting involved after the headslam - shows the team gets it and is staunch in trying to defend/protect Moses.

We probably shoulda told Jakey to take Wighton's head off, Jack was grubbing it up big time and by the time Jake came off they weren't coming back, not even against twelve men.

The opposing centre will be Hiku. So i reckon thats less of a challenge for Marata than Holmes on the other side. If it were holmes then no way marata, cos holmes would burn him.
