Here’s another name for safe keeping — Tui Afualo.

The exciting Australian Schoolboys centre has upgraded and extended his deal with Parramatta until 2019.

Only 17, Afualo was named man of the match in his Holden Cup debut this year.

Still at school, Afualo will spend 2017 in the NYC before pushing for a place in the top grade.

And in good news for NSW fans, Afualo is a Blues star in the making, having made the under 16s and under 18s NSW side.

Brisbane have moved to stave off poaching raids by launching negotiations to keep Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford as their long-term halves partnership.

In a clear indication the club intends to keep the duo together, Market Watch can reveal the Broncos are ready to offer their young stars new three-year-deals, which will tie them to Red Hill until at least the end of 2020.

Market Watch understands Hunt’s preference is to remain at the Broncos but he has already received interest from at least one Sydney club.

For months speculation has run rampant that Hunt was on the outer but negotiations to extend his deal, and put him in the frame to remain a one club man, should pour cold water on those rumours.

Milford, 22, also wants to stay at the club and is poised for a big payday, as several clubs prepare to join the queue for his signature.

Why wouldn't you want to take a pay cut to live in this wonderfully humid, sweaty, hot city with its crispy lawns, melted tar and stinky inhabitants?

so what?

if Polanski was Australian and lived here we'd be sending the pedo to the USA if they wanted him extradited

Given the US routinely spit on the French and their political relationship has been on rocky ground since practically the last world war, how is the fact that Australia and the US have a good political relationship in any way relevant to Polanski?

Yep Nathan Ryan use to have his own NRL blog (IIRC he was deemed a spam site @ LU) but now has a gig with Foxsports.

I remember a quote by Rupert saying that if you want a job with his mob, you have to make the newspapers jump off the stands, since then the media is mainly on line so no doubt his objective is to make people click on the articles.

There seems to be no limit to what these guys will do to either get a job or keep their job.

Gone are the days when we had reputable sports jouros, or any decent journos for that matter.

Everything is backwards at the moment, a bloke here at work got an award because he stayed back late to help the client out, when in fact he stayed back because he stuffed the job up to begin. He not only got an award he also got paid overtime.

I'd be embarrassed if I got an "award" under those circumstances.... don't reckon I'd even have the hide to claim OT if I had to work back to fix my own f**k up...

Where exactly do you work? It sounds like a place run by softcocks who walk around with pom-poms cheering "Hooray for Everything" and giving free hugs to the staff...

I used to work somewhere like that... there were a bunch of merkins who always got in late, always spent half the day dicking around, always had long lunches and generally did shit work ... they were all single and would stay back late alot because if you stayed after 7 work would buy your dinner and give you a cabcharge home.... so their project was shit cos they bludged for months - stayed back late with free dinner and taxi every night... and the silly managers only noticed the staying back bit and thought they were fantastic

Snoochies and Strider's stories kinda sound like the George Costanza-NY Yankees relationship... George's stupidity in locking his keys in his car meant that oblivious management saw his car in the parking lot first thing in the morning and last at night and thought he was working his tail off!!

Pretty much.

At the end of the day, the job was completed and thats all the management cared about. They get to charge the client every hour that is worked. Its a place where they are more concerned if you look at the internet for 5 minutes rather than what you produce.
