Care to actually explain your position rather than just post a link to a different case with different circumstances that resulted in a different outcome?
I think the titans bit was similar to what we got slapped with in 2015 - not 2016

The Broncos bit, well thats not like anything else

I know what the One Punch Laws (OPL) are about, but I worry about kids like my son who (albeit quite passive in nature) might find himself in a scuffle that ends up with a merkin hitting his head on the kerb.

I don't know what the "test" for a OPL charge is and it may very well require significant witnesses and zero provocation on the victims behalf, but it troubles me all the same. It would seem that "motive" or "intention" have been removed from a defendant's rights and these charges a knee jerk reaction by a politician trying to score claw in votes.

There are merkins doing time for OP attacks and I worry that their lives have been ruined because of a mix of youth, testosterone, booze and a random brain snap.
Well said.

If there was a scuffle then i doubt it would be deemed a one punch thing ..... i think one punch is a blind king hit, but they dont wanna call it a "king hit"

I guess the question to the tin foil hat brigade would be:

"If another club f**ked up as monumentally as we did and practically pointed their cakeholes at the NRL saying 'wang goes here', would the result be any different?".

When faced with that level of incompetence I'm not sure that the NRL have any option but to do what they did to Parra, otherwise they would be accused of being weak.

Sadly, its probably a hypothetical as surely there wont be another club or administration that f**king stupid.

From NSW Gov --> http://www.nsw.gov.au/alcohol-and-drug-fuelled-violence-initiatives

Minimum mandatory sentence for ‘one punch’ assaults

The scope of the offence will be expanded to ensure that it covers things worn by the offender that are used to hit the victim and circumstances where the offender uses force to cause the victim's body to hit the ground or other thing.

Voluntary intoxication removed as a mitigating factor in sentencing
Voluntary intoxication by drugs or alcohol has been removed as a mitigating factor when courts determine sentences.

I could go a Kraken about now it's been of the them days.

You know what I meant, Kraken mangled English and all but your statement that all clubs do it was wrong. Newcastle and the Titans have been under NRL rule for years and have a look at their results?? Even playing field my arse.

But If you think it's an even playing field and all clubs are treated the same you might have been into the Powers instead???
F**k me, Powers!

Wasn't that a f**king shithouse beer?

P.S. I am not arguing it is an even playing field. See post #14184
