If you’re only hard in defence then you’re a attacking liability and will be targeted. If you’re only hard in attack then you’re a defensive liability and will be targeted.

Nine tackles in 16 minutes last round means he was definitely getting a breather. By contrast Murchie made 30 tackles in 40 minutes. If any bench merkin was giving 100% it was him.
Take a look at the big clubs like Storm and Roosters, their bench would be on a par or worse than ours currently , and we still have players to return .
It got us to the grand final, which was further than expected. All those minutes had Paulo and RCG very fit come finals time. Its like compound interest Poo. It accumulates. Added to that was additional tension being in a GF. I might be wrong but so might you. Anyway lets keep playing Paulo 70 mins and Reg 60 and Hodgo 80. Im sure everything will be fine. After all it worked last year.

How is the opposition going to target you in attack ffs? The defensive team doesn’t choose where the ball goes.If you’re only hard in defence then you’re a attacking liability and will be targeted.
So are your pillow propsSo 3 x 2nd rowers and a utility? That's a horrible bench.
I hope I am wrong but I haven't seen much from Toni. Lateral defence is poor doesn't get involved or run with power/ aggression.

But that could be as far as it goes or we were punching over the best they could go for a 1 offIt got us to the grand final, which was further than expected. All those minutes had Paulo and RCG very fit come finals time.

Just like in the 1st trial, hodgo looked bad.He was missing heaps of tackles but improved last year towards the end of year. Last week barely missed a tackle.
Agree needs to run harder. I'll say one thing but. When I watched Penisini in NSW CUP I was dissapointed. He got carved up in defense and didn't stand out. I thought he is years away.
5 weeks later he was in the NRL. And his defense was fine. I was confused but coaches who have a better idea then me. I watch the game while eating, talking to people , texting etc so miss things. They obviously can see why he missed tackles. Most likely defenders either side of him played a role
100%Most likely defenders either side of him played a role
Yeah could be, but if you are going to retroactively change anything you need to assume a reversion to mean, which equals fewer wins, not more. At least in the absence of any supporting evidence. But that could be as far as it goes or we were punching over the best they could go for a 1 off
When he fumbled that ball on tackle 1 from the tap kick I was ready to vent. He managed to just hold on so he deserves a second chance.I'm not writing Murchie off after one game. See how he goes by rnd 8 then we will judge him.
Nrown is what’s wrong with this forum. Right up till he was shitlisted by BA, he was the “handbrake”. 2 weeks later, he’s a must pick.
MAKE UP YOUR f**kEN MINDS PEOPLE!

100%
There’s heaps more one-on-one tackles in reserve grade, which is why dudes whose strength is their running game are the ones who stand out.
Yep agree that's our best starting back row and benchMines this

I'd prefer starting Bryce. He can warm into the game. Using him as an impact forces him to chance his arm.
