Mines this

11 Lane
12 Bryce
13 Hopgood

14 Matterson
15 Doorey
16 N.Brown
17 Greig/Murchie

I'd prefer starting Bryce. He can warm into the game. Using him as an impact forces him to chance his arm.

Were our forwards flat in the GF because they were over used?
Wouldn’t they have also been flat the week before (when we won) or in the weeks before that? It’s not suddenly something that occurred only in the grand final. In fact Gould predicted we would be flat in the grand final because of having to play in Townsville the week before it.

He’s a handbrake when everyone is available. Now he is needed and is the saviour when it comes to our poor bench due to injury/suspension.
If he was in and told to do a job - Run hard, don't ball play (leave it to hopgood and matto) and lead the linespeed and tackle and dont take the 5th play, he will be fine.

It is like Carty. Natural instinct is to throw it but he held back last week.

If Nrown was told only to do that, he would be better than Jirra, Maka, Greig,Murch et al

Its like compound interest Poo. It accumulates. Added to that was additional tension being in a GF. I might be wrong but so might you. Anyway lets keep playing Paulo 70 mins and Reg 60 and Hodgo 80. Im sure everything will be fine. After all it worked last year.

Greig has to learn to pace himself unless BA is telling him to rip in.

He has to learn when he can find a chance to get a breather and when to give it his all.

He seems like he gives 100% all the time in attack and defence until he gets tired. Then he plods
Nine tackles in 16 minutes last round means he was definitely getting a breather. By contrast Murchie made 30 tackles in 40 minutes. If any bench merkin was giving 100% it was him.

I also hope Mataele steps up and by mid season forces his way in the side. He would give us a genuine powerfull 2md rower

I hope I am wrong but I haven't seen much from Toni. Lateral defence is poor doesn't get involved or run with power/ aggression.

Nrown is what’s wrong with this forum. Right up till he was shitlisted by BA, he was the “handbrake”. 2 weeks later, he’s a must pick.

MAKE UP YOUR f**kEN MINDS PEOPLE!
Well BA is responsible for every loss (but none of the wins) so whichever player seems to be on the outer with BA (e.g. Nrown and Greig) is an absolute top 17 requirement. Whichever player is related to BA is a useless merkin.

I saw Emu do this many times last season. Im glad hes finally got his shot. Hopefully he gets future shots and more than 13 minutes. Definitely agree with Ogden. Ive seen little to get excited about there even before his contract was extended. Rodwell is a strange one. He looked the goods early but has fallen off a cliff. Maybe a mental issue with him. Surely hes fit enough.
Fit enough is about all he is. Rodwell is undersized and not especially mobile. He is a backup.
