We've lost two games by less than a converted try and you're convinced it means we can't play? When we win two in a row do you think we'll go on to win six straight? We haven't won or lost six in a row since the start of 2018. It's a freak occurrence. The last time we won five straight was 2021. It really depends on who you have to play.

If you're down by four, merkins expect good players to just conjure a try. They forget games are played over 80 minutes and every try scored in that time requires some luck. The one you don't score in the 79th minute means you had less luck than the one you did score in the 33rd. No team or player creates tries at will. But when your defence is bad enough to leak 30 points, plenty of merkins think your attack is the problem when you could only score 26.
He's never played on the edge in first grade and only twice in reserve grade. Looking at his lateral movement here you can see why. He's a middle defender:
