So, who are the people responsible for identification and recruitment below NRL and above say SG Ball. These teams are supposed to be getting players ready to step up, but are getting hammered.Even this early in the season , surely they should be reviewing the system and why the teams don’t look cohesive and again , lack genuine speed.

That’s the responsibility of the HOF, sure he has a lot to do given signings for NRLW and contract negotiations with NRL players, but would imagine that is in his job description. Answer is it the system they are playing, the coaching or the recruitment, answer that and we can move forward.

We have the juniors coming up but once they step into Flegg they never develop... Who are the coaches at that level.

We have some decent kids in Ball this season let's see what happens.

It’s all over social media. We should let him go and ask for Daniel Tupou seeing that he is also off contract at the end of the year. In addition they have signed Dominic Young. I’d give Tupou a 2 year deal with an option for a third in our favour. He is class. They would be on similar money too.

I would go for Topou and Billy Smith.

For a similar price tag to Moses?

If he was being paid $800,000, his lack of clutch ability wouldn't be an issue.

But he wants to be paid the same, or similar, to what Nathan Cleary, and Ben Hunt, get, despite having achieved but a fraction of what they have.

What has Ben hunt achieved at club level? Not much more than moses

You still think we are in a good place in 2023? MON and BA have done a good job recruiting for our top 30? The premiership window is still open and that we are still NRL heavyweights?
I think I have said enough in the past 24 hours for you to know where I think where team is at. However we don’t play finals in March and there is time for things to turn around.

Its not me that thinks we are NRL heavyweights @Noise we made the GF last year, plenty still think we’ll be there in the end. We lost our first by golden point and last night because we were patchy. Still, we were good enough to win the match and coukd have very easily. Fingers crossed.

I guess that’s why they have Nathan Brown this season, who’s job is to give them those pathways to the top.

Well let's hope we see some improvement.

I don't have much hope for the players if they get to NSWcup and expect their game to develop. Cayless just doesn't seem like a good coach.

Probably like Gordon Ramsay trying to make a nice dish out of dog food.

Flegg got smashed,Nsw cup flogged.
0/6 from 3 main grades. Big week next week for the club. 0/9 would be a record surely
Cmon Hindy111. It's a loooonnggg season. You don't want to peak too early. I mean it's character building, ironing out the chinks in all grades and I'm sure once we start front loading, producing effort on effort plays and use just 14 players in all grades we will be firing on all cylinders and all those other clubs better be looking over their shoulders

And who would be my first choice if we ended up boning BA prematurely. At least in a caretaker role.
He has said that he wants to work in admin many times over. I think he was going to take a recruitment job at STG but flipped to stay here.

They missing some of best players - Yes we miss 2 also. But we at home. Not beating sharks without Hynes is poor form at home amd up by 10. We self destructed. Is up to halves to take control and run the game. Moses reminds me of a guy who has all the skill but lacks the mental awareness and calm head.
He is a 900k halfback
The Panthers lost at home to the Broncos missing Walsh. It means nothing because it's only one game. Kennedy, Moylan and Trindall all stepped up well.

And no idea how to drill and reliably return with points from forays into the opposition red zone.
After 80 minutes we scored as many tries as the Storm and the Sharks ffs, both top five teams last year. Five of our tries were scored from inside the opposition 10m zone. How many would you expect from 163 minutes of footy? Only the Sharks have scored more tries than us this year, and they have scored fewer from inside the 10m zone. They have scored the same number as us (five) from inside the 20.

So whichever team you are comparing us to this year, they haven't scored more tries than we have. You're demonstrably fabricating reasons to f**king whinge now.

Our defence is still f**ked. If you score that many points in two games you should end up winning.

Watching from the nosebleed section last night, what I saw was the Sharks doing a lot of movement off the ball when they were in possession. Their line speed was twice the speed of ours, they were making metres slot easier than us.

The biggest worry was watching their 3 first half tries where I'm pretty sure each of those try scorer's literally, and I mean literally and not just for hyperbole sake, had not a hand laid on them. That's unforgivable in first grade IMO.

We seriously lack speed in our backline. Our fastest players are our 2 halves. Not good... Murchie and Doorey look so unfit it's embarrassing - hands on hips for entire sets. I get they were not signed as top 17 players, but if you've signed a contract and you're not sure if you're going to crack a spot in the top grade because there are more talented blokes in front of you, then surely, fitness is an area that you can nail in the off season.

Hodgson has either lost all confidence in his body/knees and that is why he has shelved his running game, or he has been coached not to run and to just distribute... Judging by Rheeds game (small sample size) so far this year, I think it's the latter ...
