He was often pretty average in reserves but fortunately he has shown his quality in firsts which is great for us.
Especially if Hodgson does not work out.

Not many coaches get there 1st GF preparation right. Its a tricky week to get right.

You can go away from what gets you there in the first place and things go pear shape.

Players like routine.

You can overbear the players by putting too much pressure on them.

There is no exact science.

Brian Smith clearly never handled it and he had 4 cracks. While Bennett has mastered it by keeping it simple.

Hasler, Bellamy, Cleary all multiple premiership winning coaches lost there 1st GF.

Not going together as a team on a bus to a GF was clearly a bad call.

It was in hindsight, but if we had jagged a win, the same decision would be paraded as a masterstroke.
