Well BA is even failing on the nepotism front this year (the merkin has fully blocked Jake by offering Drown and Moey long contracts) so I find it hard to believe that the timing is anything other than coincidental.

And before I get accused of nuthugging, I said on here that I wanted us to sign Verrills, but the bloke is fragile. And JMK.....I don't care what anyone says, he was a plodder for years. Credit to him and the Fins for the player he has become.

JMK was never a plodder. He always showed promise and enterprise in his play. It was patchy is all and riddled with mistakes at times, which is very understandable when playing in that abomination of a team that was the Dogs at the time. Last year when the Dogs improved slightly so did he and by a fair margin too, then master coach Benny saw the raw edge talent that lay beneath and pounced and as the say in the classics...the rest my friends is history.

Oh pleeeeese. He was very good last year and excellent this year. But prior to that, he was an average plodder in poor teams. In fact, he's proof that any player can come good with the right combination of environment, coaching and opportunity, something half you merkins fail to acknowledge when talking about our own club.

Luke and Kenny both run more than Hodgson. They each have more total running metres than Hodgson despite averaging less minutes than him.
They’ve run more often than Mahoney as well. He is averaging 40m in 80 minutes. Absolutely f**k all. He hasn’t turned into a run threat. If he had better team mates he would be wasting carries.

I think the point is that he always had a running game. He just lacked in other areas, like Cook prior to about age 27.

Did his improvement at The Dogs coincide with Barrett's sacking I wonder?

The contract extension hasn’t been ticked off just yet but Eels halfback Mitch Moses says he’s “agreed” to a new deal to stay at the club after he helped Parramatta to a much-needed win over a Wests Tigers side which desperately tried to sign him.
According to reports, he has signed a deal to stay with Parramatta until 2028, but nothing official has come from the club just yet.
That led to a bit of confusion from fans but Moses was fairly clear on the matter when asked about his future, saying he hadn’t signed yet but that he’d agreed to terms.

So..........5 years? I remember reading here that that would never happen and the club would stand firm and not bend over? #declining returns
