Rumours and Stuff

So using Commbank for training is not an option? Where do The Brave Roosters train?

I think that they still train at Kippax Lake Field, which is right there out the front of the stadium. But the COE is inside the stadium itself I believe. The Roosters are very lucky that they play and train in an area that has more public playing/training fields then any other is Sydney. I believe they have been given permission to seconder one of those just as the Swans have another one near by to train on.

On a side note. During summer my mates and I used to get rotten drunk as hooligan teenagers and walk around inside that lake, splashing one another and throwing mud at each other. Ah the silliness of youth. They were the days.

We agreed to supply the nets for the basketball rings on the courts outside the stadium along O'Connell Street...that's a perpetual expense too, those motherf**king nets don't last forever you know....
Birds pinched the net on my daughter’s netball ring, the thieving little merkins.

Well whose fault is it that we don’t have that? I want a scapegoat ffs!

It's irrelevant at the end of the day, as long as it was contributed from a non-government entity on behalf of the Roosters.

well not really, I was trying to find out just how much uncle Nick funds the club, or are they self funding ? We all know he tips money in

that was the reason I asked

In essence, I think everyone knows that Nick Politis is essentially the 'owner' of the Roosters, without having any of the risk of being the owner of the Roosters. The actual owners, the club members (not to be confused with season ticket holder members), don't seem to have an issue with the arrangement, why should anyone else?

If he is wealthy enough to tip in his own money for his hobby, on behalf of the hobby, what does it matter?

It doesn't as long as he is abiding by all NRL rules and not affecting the salary cap on the sly in any way.

I am jealous though big time. I wish we had a sugar daddy. We have a whole city to ourselves that is growing and thriving and we can barely get TPA's for our players. Isn't there just one multi bazillionare out there that loves Parra?

Yeah basically right there.

Of course the chook fans wouldn't have an issue with the current arrangement. Why change what's worked so well in past 20 years.

The big question will be when Uncle Nick eventually goes as he in his 90s now they will have the systems in the place I suppose with the big backers in town.

Will it continue post Uncle Nick?

Yes, agree it would matter if it involves payments to players outside the cap, but the comment was around the building of the training facility.

Hilarious that the West Tigers think that they can target Josh Schuster and that he would solve their problems. His career is on a knife edge as it is and if he is to even reach his potential he’ll need to be at a really good club. Throwing cash at him at the Tigers won’t work.

He is extremely wealthy, he is unlikely to need all that wealth into the future, nor will his descendants upon his eventual passing, but he is only around 80.

He appears to have a love of the Roosters, and more invested than most owners. It wouldn't surprise me if the Roosters are well provided for upon his departure, perhaps substantially more than they are now.

I think they need to be blown up and sent to Perth for a clean start.

Call them the West Coast Tigers with a new board, constitution, players and remove Wests & Balmain from any part of the franchise.
This forum has some sort of collective alzheimers. Four years ago Parra won their 3rd spoon in 6 years, 5 years ago the NRL stepped in and appointed an administrator to run the club, but now you all puff your chests out like the rugba leeg Man U?
