Well, if we’re unable to talk other teams here, I figure that there’s no point in other clubs’ fans coming to chat about Parra then, yeah? Anyway, you have a good one too cob.

How do you know Im not a Parra fan? If my name was Eel5150 I can stay? Have you read that Pou blokes posts? What make you think he is a Parra fan?

Well why don’t you explain why we should be better than we are. We haven’t made the finals for four straight years since 2002 ffs. We are already well ahead of our long term mean.
I never said that. I’m saying I find it bizarre that you’ve placed an arbitrary cap on how much player talent we can have in our squad. The fact that you’re admitting that we’re well ahead of our long term mean shows that the cap is arbitrary.

Well the cap is arbitrary by definition. It is about $12M this year. The amount of talent a given team can fit under it is relative to the number of teams and the amount of playing talent available. The Introduction of the Dolphins means everyone (on average) should be weaker, which certainly looks to be the case.

But the key fact is that, apart from an expansion in the number of teams, the value of the salary cap has no bearing on the spread of talent. Some clubs are stronger and will generally (over the long term) manage to fit more talent under the cap, and some clubs are weaker, and will generally have less. Tell me if you disagree. We are one of 17 clubs on this continuum, and over the long term we have ‘our place’ at a certain point relative to all the other clubs.

I’m hoping our recent four years is a sign that we have actually gotten stronger and are now in the top six (or whatever) clubs in the NRL. But it might just be a brief period of strength (similar to our brief period of weakness between 2010 and 2015), and over the long term we will revert to our mean result of being slightly below the NRL average.

Walker would be favourite to go to Redcliffe, possibly Raiders if Whighton leaves.

Flanagan is the realistic target for the tigers lol.
Is Walker a better option for the Dolphins than O'Sullivan and Katoa though? Getting rissoled by the Roosters is the equivalent of getting sent to the glue factory for a halfback. I laugh when I hear about the loyal Roosters family.
