Rumour on SEN today is Townsend will go there next year on his 850k from the cowboys.

It would sum up the tigers to a tee if they sign Townsend on anything above 600k.

Deserve has nothing to do with it. My argument is that there are economic realities, and trying to find a scapegoat doesn’t help anyone. There are just some clubs far better resourced than we are. That’s not the coach’s fault, or even FFSO’Neil’s. People like the board and the CEO are responsible for growing the club and increasing resources, but how quickly can it realistically happen? We’ve seen the PLC increase funding to football operations but (economic realities, again) this was severely impacted by Covid. We only just overtook our 2019 spending last year, and it is still only about two thirds what the Panthers spend on rugby league costs, and they’ve been spending big for a decade.

Brooks wouldn’t be on anywhere near a million (or 850) wherever he ends up next year. 850 for Townsend next year would still be a desperate decision by the Tigers. 600 would be reasonable

General play is pretty similar. Though would like Moses to have the spiral bomb in his kitbag once a while that really pressures the catches like Cleary does.

He had a leg injury tbf. I think Moses is a better attacking player. More creative.
But Nathan is clutch. He doesn't sway from the game plan at all. And his defense is amazing. Moses needs to show me he can consistently be clutch and stick to a game plan.
