No it was because we had an injury crisis in the outside backs. It wasn't until after his stint at centre that he started to hit form.
No he started slowly last year as well. He has never shown consistency, and the only thing that might make us think he will is his age. He is not yet 23, which is young for a playmaker. It is his physicality that has made him valuable in the NRL, not his game sense. That's why he is suited to centre.
With his running and defence he would be a great centre (like Wighton), and maybe the best in the game. The problem is he is one of our best players and it is difficult to get involved at centre. He made 29 runs against Canberra in the finals. Only a spine player can get that involved.
