For a player who spent a fair bit of time in the lower grades playing fullback, Sean Russell's inability to catch bombs is puzzling, to say the least.

So, as indicated last night, we need a Right Wing, Left Centre, 9/14, and one other quality interchange middle. We royally f**ked up the potential recruitment of Taupau.

An immediate Right Wing option is surely Nofoaluma, he is well on the outer at the Tigpies. As an option going forward, Charlie Staines is also signed only for this year, and isn't going to be getting a gig as their long term fullback.

Left Centre there is a plethora of options out there, but most of it is recycling players that haven't really done much at their current club.

For the 9/14, I'd take a look at the English guy currently at the Titans, as he isn't their long term option. Although, we don't have a great record with recruiting pommies. Another option is Moses Mbye, who could be more than handy.

Interchange middle, we only need someone to play 30 minutes, there are a few options out there

Sorry but you are replacing average players with more average players. I’d rather keep the shot we have at least we know them and then upgrade when we have a decent junior coming through or can get a tooling player from another club.

I'd go after any of the dogs good juniors now. They'd be cash strapped. Atleast it drives their price up

Can’t hurt to try. He’s got other wingers in front of him. Entice them with first grade positions.

that’s the talent we need to be targeting. we have a very slow backline with the likes of Simmonson / Dunster etc who offer absolutely nothing. This quality of shit continues to be brought to the club. BA has to realise he f**king can’t cure shit. Not every turd can be polished.

There’s much less pressure in the lower grades. This means their ability to handle it can’t be judged until they get there, I’ll give you the hot tip.
