There’s a bloke playing reserve grade for the roosters that would walk into our team on the bench, think his name was Nathan something, oh, that’s it, Nathan Brown.

A few at the Roosters we should chase now.

Billy Smith
Fletcher Baker

Dragons have Jayden Sullivan in Cup who can play Hooker off the bench and kick goals..

Well we know Waqa Blake was on huge money at Penrith and they released him to us early. Now he is on huge money at our club. If that's true for a bloke with no Origin experience, how much more so for Nathan Brown?

It's just science.

You know very well that we took over that large contract. Initially it was shared. I’m not saying it was 50/50 but it was subsidised by the Panthers.

Now it’s probably not and the club realises he isn’t worth his current deal or anywhere near it at full freight.

I was told by one of my best birds they chipped in about 150k. So if on 500k he was 350k. Fair price tbh. But only for first 3yrs then full freight.

We'd be hard to beat if we had a team like this but our recruitment is that f**king dumb. Nofa is literally sitting in reserve grade. Make a play for him FFS

Because he is signed until the end of 2025. Do we want him on the books for that long? On decent coin? It’s a genuine question and I would be interested pending on how much the Tigers would be willing to fork out.

Kayal Iro and Trey Mooney are interesting prospects. It’s a shame the Sharks have managed to offload Ikuvalu.

I like Connor Tracey. He seems stuck in NSW CUP. Walks into our side

Yeah. Brown was a damn good 5-8 last year and didnt he shift him to get his useless son Jake into the team?
Different situation this year as it is becoming probable he is just not a good 5-8 and could fill a need at centre.

Sorry wrong post.

Is there a chance that we could somehow make a play for Blacker at Penrith or Baker from Roosters. Both could do a very good job while RCG is out. I wouldn't mind getting Kelly and Nofoaluma somehow as well. Does anyone know roughly how much we have to spend?

Yeah I'm a bit perplexed as to why Eddie Blacker is sill in the lower grades. I mean he is 23 going on 24 late this year. Is it all just hype about this guy? I haven't seen enough of this guy to make a fair judgement on him. But from what I have seen of him he was ok, be it he needed a little more involvement. Does anyone who watches more of the lower grades have an opinion on him?

Has he got a big motor. Does he hit the line consistently hard etc?

Would be the 1st player I'd be trying to get. He is an absolute gun

So why is he still languishing in the lower grades at that age? Outside backs mostly come into the NRL from 18-21 years of age. If you are still playing NSW cup at 23 that means you probably have deficiencies. Probably defensive ones that haven't been sorted out.

Or Maybe the coaching staff could coach Brown better and not stick him just on the left.

I believe it goes further then our coaching staff. I mean we have Barrett now as our attacking coach and he maybe a lousy head coach, but he is a damned fine student of the game and offensive coach. Remember he was the offensive coach at the Panthers and we wish as a team our boys all knew their jobs like they do and played like them consistently.

No, like I have been saying our team/club as a whole don't live and breath footy. They don't sit and watch hours of video every day after training when they go home and do their own research and dissect games and players strengths and weaknesses and strategies. Then go to training and work on plays for hours after the normal training session. They don't seek out old players or coaches and pick their brains on footy. There are literally hundreds of old footy brains that would love for them to pick up the phone and ask them for help. I'm sure even someone like Brian Smith wouldn't mind mentoring a player like Dylan if he asked for help.

No, we just have a Potato Head in charge who has a one dimensional approach to footy and so instructs everyone to only train the squad that way. So if a player can't play consistently well playing that style and doesn't in his own time, off his own bat work out ways to improve within that style or even outside of that style and then present those ideas at training and the coaching staff so they can see the merits in adjusting, then he struggles like we are seeing in Dylan.

Players need to take ownership and responsibility too. It isn't good enough to just do the mandatory stuff and then go home and knit.

Plenty of reasons why he hasnt cracked first grade atm.

But he has some more Upside than some of our NSW cup players

Blacker runs hard and goes decent in shorter stints. Gives away far too many penalties too. Having said that, I can’t understand why he isn’t at least given more opportunities at Penrith. You only get better by getting a chance.
