So tell us how you know they overpaid merkins? Releasing them 12 months later only proves they were surplus to requirements.
If ever you have to release anyone to any club and are footing some of the bill you have overpaid. Not only do they become surplus to requirements but they are impacting on your cap and costing you money despite not providing a service to your club.

So why would the receiving club agree to pay them the same if they already proved they weren’t worth it? These merkins would need to take a pay cut at a new club. That’s why they negotiate a payout with their old club.

Because they are worth it at the receiving club because the other team is footing the bill. There is no pay out. Both teams foot the bill on a monthly basis.

Blake is probably worth it at $350k with Penrith contributing another $150k. But not at $500k when only one merkin is paying. Penrith realised it first, now we have realised because his contract is up and there are no takers at his old price, including us.

One thing our club must do if they continue to take a game the Darwin is be telling the side they are taking we go aslong as you do the same when we play. Take the game to a neautral ground to spread the game.

Nrl wants to be professional yet Brisbane get Manlys home game at theirs every magic round. How the hell does this work out that they never have their own home game on magic round?
That's a huge advantage. Throw in us taking our home game against them. A potential 4 point swing to them.

At home I reckon we win amd same goes for Manly. Hard to take the game seriously when they spin this rubbish.

And the other thing that has to change is a rule on short drop outs. It's hard enough forcing one and also not giving away a 7 tackle set. Its getting to a point now why risk it.
Your probably 35% chance of kicking it dead. 35% chance the player isn't trapped in goals and 30% of actually pinning them. Then they take the short drop out amd its a 50/50. So your 15% of getting a benefit from a possitive play.

I'd also get rid of the 7 tackle set if the kick is taken within the red zone. It is to much of a disadvantage and risk. And why so many sides are just running on the last and conceding. BORING.

So for me 2 x rule changes. Drop out must go 20mtrs. Get rid of 7 tackle sets.

I’d go back to teams get six again if they get held up over the try line. Teams are too confident defending the try line these days so short kick offs are the norm.

I like Connor Tracey. He seems stuck in NSW CUP. Walks into our side

I like him too. He’s somewhat comparable to Corey Thompson who I believe was criminally underrated there for a while. This said, I think we need a bigger bodied outside back to make metres when challenged with a set defensive line.

As I mentioned, Iro fits this bill. Ikavalu being released doesn’t fill me with confidence, although they rate Stonestreet above him.

I've got nothing against BA, but we've stagnated badly.

Re-signing him shows that we're happy with this, which is puzzling to me.

I understand there may not be better options, but I think we should have only offered him a one year extension, and challenged him to turn our fortunes around.

To be fair, he has shown he can take us deep into the Finals, so he's not a dud.

But something needs to change - whether it's taking some control away from him, hiring new assistants, or maybe even looking at a coaching director - we need new ideas.

Rare I watch the nightly news however just saw sport on 9 and it stated RCG out for 8-10 weeks.. .that is just fkn terrible.
Hopefully Wiremu takes the chance with both hands.
Then I just switched to 7 and they said at least 6 weeks...wtf.
I think we should just get the answer from the club. That's right they don't give us updates anymore...

Got to give the AFL credit. They have a game on tonight. Not that I'm going to watch it but gee it would've been good if the NRL had a game on tonight...
That Canadian company that does the draw needs to provide us with answers

I posted the same last week in the main forum match day thread for in the Storm/Warriors match. I feel like that should have been played tonight. The Storm/Warriors match always feels a bit flat to me after the Roosters/Dragons main event on ANZAC Day...
