So I heard on the radio before we are after a prop and BA said we ain't gonna just sign anyone. It has to be for this year and 2 years after that. Paraphrasing.
My concern is we obviously low balled Klemmer and Taupau and couldn't get them. So now we are probably after someone who is somewhat disgruntled at their current club. I don't think we can dangle the carrot to come and play for a title. We may not even make the 8 the way we are going.
I wouldn't be against signing 1 of the following bit feel we need an established seasoned prop/lock to cover for RCG absence and Paulo impending Origin absence.

Eddie Blacker
Simpkins from Wests
Daniel Suluka Fifita
A good hooker running around with some NRL experience is Tyson Smoothy as well.
I would also be looking at the Feagai brother currently in reserves as a winger option as he's not bad at all and in truth better than what we have.
Definitely be making enquiries on Kayal Iro as well. Stay in reserve grade or walk into Parra 1st grade....

Exactly right re Moses. If tigers are desperate to throw 1.5 mill at him it doesn’t mean that’s his worth. It’s 1/17 teams willing to throw those $$$ at him, and nor should it dictate what we pay him.

I do think thought that when a player leaves his current club for massive unders to a new club and that new club is already full of elite talent then there should definitely be suspicion and an investigation. Souths should be audited and probed with a blow torch and a pair of pliers.

I'm seeing him making a lot of first contact, and not getting much help other than from Hopgood.

Maybe he's go BO, and the other middles don't want to get in there in tackles with him? Maybe he refuses to have a bath? All conjecture, of course...

But the question is how long to we (BA) persist with something that isn't working - and will likely work even less without our form middle for the next ten weeks? Defend his prior abilities all you like, but BA has already tried to reduce the negative impact Hodgson's play is having on our middle defence by limiting his minutes...

We’re in a good place and I woukd argue that the “window” isn’t as closed as the haters want you to think. Credit goes to not only to BA and MON, but all the way back to Max Donnelly. Nothwithstanding all the criticism, in 2023 we have stability, are financially sound and most definitely an NRL heavyweight.

When we released Brown:

Look if we release Brown and have no immediate plans to sign a good player that afternoon then every single merkin from the coach down needs to be thrown in that stinky river behind the club.

So how are BA and MON going? Still no replacement for Brown and definitely not an NRL heavyweight. Liking the direction we are headed?

The fatigue is directly related to possession, which is linked to completion rates. Against Penrith we completed at 95%. It was less than 70% in Darwin.

No coincidence your best 2 years since 2005 happened when Ellis was at the club.

Peak Tigers and Ellis was a beast. Frustrating thing is this years team, player for player is a lot better than 2011 with the notable exception of the halves.

from what we read we have money to spare, the problem is that who is actually available to sign right now ?
