'Still has plenty to offer'

This is the reason why I don't want Flanagan to replace BA at the club.
He can't be trusted he would sign Kyle in a heartbeat the moment he becomes a Head coach.
You can make it clear to him that we don't want his son at the club and is part of the deal if he wants to be head coach of the Eels. I don't think he would be that silly to advance his son over our current halves anyway. But if his son can't get a decent gig somewhere else he may get desperate and try to bring him in as a utility or 14, and then slowly move Brown to centre and then slot his boy in at 6.
So that is why you make it clear and maybe even put it in the contract, a no son clause. But I really don't think he would cut his nose off to spite his face and not work hard to bring out the very best in Brown in particular. If he can find the key and unlock those talents then he would have one hell of a combo in Gutho, Brown and Moses.
But you are right, family connection can be strong, so the no son clause should be inserted to make sure rhat there are no misunderstands going forward. If he doesn't like it he doesn't get the gig. But it must be made clear to him that that is the only real restriction that he will have as the head coach and that management will not interfere with any other part of his role, which is as it should be. If he doesn't accept that, then he isn't the man for the job.
