Rumours and Stuff

Overrated I agree. But also a generational talent. Remember he is only 19 and not playing in his ideal position.
I think its a shame he is lost to the game. I'm not sure how good he will be but I would have him over all 3 you mentioned if we had to go a long term fullback. Just based on his size and power.

True for now. But eventually he may end up in the back row too. He used to play in the back row as well as fullback in the juniors and like you said he is still only a baby and so we don't know exactly how the end product will look. He may end up filling out so much that he loses the ability to run the distances that a fullback has to cover. You know like that lump Latrell who only makes about 4 runs a half but without the freakish skills of the lump.

It is a pity that he is going over to Union. I was looking forward to seeing his evolution. Now we don't know what that sport is going to do to him. It could set him back years. Just no way of knowing really.

Reece is my man now. The better looking Slater and the man with the sex offender smile, The Hammer.

I’d have a tilt at Jake Averillo.

fast, strong, and can anywhere in the backline

After the way he played yesterday there is no way we would be anywhere near in the hunt, but I would have a real red hot crack at him anyway so we stick it to the knob Dogs and they get stuck paying him mega backs.

I can't believe they haven't already wrapped him up though. We can only dream of having such speed machine and footwork in our backline. A real Ferrari, we are lucky if we get a Holden come off our production line.

Averillo is excess. Dogs have
Crighton JAC Amoti Xerri Kris

That will be the backline. Don't they also have another young gun centre.
I like Averillo. He would be a smart purchase and not cost the world.

I forgot about Crighton and Xerri.

Sh*t you're right Hindy, there is a great chance that we could nab him and us being a neighbouring club he wouldn't need to move or anything. We should have been on the blower to his manager yesterday.

Oh shoot! Who am I kidding? Between Potato Head and Glacier we have no chance. Besides he isn't Potato Head type of player. He doesn't chase the collision.

Gould built a great backline. It's fast and explosive. Now we should raid the junior talent and guys he didn't rate

Jeez I would love to get Gould as our Head of Football Department. I don't know when his contract ends at the Dogs, I think he has a couple of years to go still, but I would be putting feelers out to him and his manager now telling them when they are ready to go again that we are very interested and keen to do business.

We need someone like him to come in and reset our whole football department from juniors to NRL recruitment and retention. Also with his business contacts he more then makes up for what he would cost us. If he is on your side he is Gold no matter what his detractors say.

We should of chased him as soon as he left the Panthers.

We made the finals of Matts won Ball have Nathan Brown into the first year of Junior Dev...
We have retained Brown Gutho Paulo Reg Moses (soon) Sivo Matto Hands etc.

I agree on the Business contacts though he would be good for that side.

Yeah, I'm sure we mentioned it back then too. In fact I know I and I wouldn't be surprised if you too mentioned it while he was at the Panthers. Out club just don't make great management signings. Hell we barely make great player signing. What chance have we got. Besides we just don't have the resources, just ask Pou..

I've heard it all before. As for retaining those players well sure, but that is what I expect from any half decent run club to be able to do when we are all given what $12.1m this year to spend on players. I want us to be a great club at all levels. If we can't produce juniors and keep the best of them, if we cant attract marquee players for less like the best clubs do, then we will almost always be in the also rans group. That is not where I want to be. We have been in that group now for nearly 40 freakin years. I want better. Don't you?

Well last time we won Ball D Brown was in that team so not a bad retention. Especially for a team just coming out of the Salary cap drama.

Did you watch the Ball final? are you planning on taking note how they progress with the new structure in place?
If you pop into the Juniors thread there are alot of exciting names to look out for in the next few years.

Not sure signing Gus would help bring them through. (even a broken clock is right twice a day ;-) )

How many marquee players did the Panthers sign? Kikau isn't one as he wasn't a name when he was signed.

BTW I have heard it all before as well Brian Smith was great at bringing Juniors through and getting a Marquee signing (Dykes ) But how did that end up?

Gould snapped up the best juniors and DOGS WON HM this season.
He is building a rocket and I reckon next year he will finish the pieces and launch it. It will be fast and powerful. Sometimes rockets do blow up but I see this real team spirit watching these guys fight for wins. I reckon they will be top 4 and maybe 3v3n minor premiers next season.
I feel like we are building more of a work ute. It's practical, fairly reliable and will get the job done but won't turn to many heads when it comes to September.
