Yes, that’s why our most penalised player is only conceding 0.8 penalties per game. It’s pretty good.
If all of our players conceded 0.8 penalties per game, it would be a concern for sure.
IMHO, the fact that we concede less than 5 penalties per game on average means we can afford to have a couple of players that push the envelope with the refs early in the game and see what is allowable. If it works, the tone is set for the rest of the game, if it doesn't then you stop doing it.

Same with ruck infringements. Test the ref early and see what's allowed.

Ryles knows scapegoat bait when he sees it. Some clubs are set up for success and some aren’t. But dopey fans expect a coaching change should be enough to turn the 2023 Dragons into the 2010 Dragons.

just lucky for dragons they had great resources back in 2010, and were a great club.

Poaching Bennett made no difference for them.

Clubs can be 'up' for a few years but eventually the lack of resources brings them back down again.
Bennett saw his opportunity there when they were in an 'up' period. He left before they crashed down again.

Clubs with great resources stay up for longer, and when they do fall they take less time to get back up again.

He’s obviously been offered the long term gig at the Storm, only has to wait another year for Martina to f**k off. Why would you jump in and take the Dragons job?? Yeah but as usual it’s all the fans fault lol.

I’d argue the person who hired a deadset fraud and potato like Hook is even dopier. The bloke is a snake oil salesman. He can thank his buddies on 360 for the gig. The Dragons should be chasing someone like Hasler.

Exactly, and like at other clubs, it should be your smartest players doing the testing. It’s why Hodgson starts matches. Bennett said similar about bringing a bunch of veterans into his pack at Redcliffe. He said they know how to start games. It’s just part of the value of experience.

Have a look at their record in the five years before Bennett arrived, compared to their most recent five years. They were a much stronger club back then, which would be why Bennett agreed to go there.

Did ryles apply for the job, go thru the interview process then turn them down? Or did storm make a counter offer when he applied for the drags position

Yep, it’s like the difference between climate and weather.
