In a different convo last night with some way cooler guys than this place can boast (your presence excluded of course), I made the call that I think, this year, we're seeing the Shaun Lane that has been turfed/shopped from 3 NRL clubs prior to his Parra start.

Injuries aside, he has been awful. Probably worthy of coming back though reserve grade tbf. Although the fear would be Cayless makes him even worse.....
Lane only plays well every 3-4 years. He was decent for a season a the Dogs, was decent for his last half a season at manly and decent last year. The rest of the time he’s been a f**king lazy player

That because we have to many stinkers in our squad already that don't deserve to be there because they have no real potential.
Every squad has players who will only ever be backups. These merkins are the cheapest, and let you spend the most on your top dozen or so.

I reckon if you go back and look you'd find plenty on here praising him for how well he went when he returned from the ACL.

And deservedly so.
Sivo was significantly better last year (and the year before) than this year.

He’s always been lazy. A real shame because he could be an origin player had he had a better attitude.

Sounds like an elite crew.

I’m still not sold on Simonsson and haven’t changed my mind about him. He was crap yesterday. Went back to his sidewinder running. He comes across as a major unco to me. We need to buy a centre with some pace or tackle breaking capability.
I was watching him and some of his runs and comparing them to Penisini on the other side.
It doesnt seem to me as though Simmonson ever gets much of a chance to run the ball as part of a backline spread. Dummy half runs and hit ups one or two off the play the ball seem to be more of what happens on his side of the field. Any sweeping backline movement that isnt within the opposition 20 is down the right hand side.

He had a few good games when he was aggressive last year and some games this year but then his inner Superman came out again, thus he turned into the pile of shit that we know he can be.

You would think at present this has something to do with the temporary change in the 6. It's probably also no coincidence that for the first time in his career at the club Sivo went 3 games without scoring a try.

You'd hope (and you'd have to think it's the case) that the Tigpies are contributing to his salary. He's probably worth half of his Tigpies salary, which in reality was more than what Matterson is on.

I think he can be handy for 30 mins or so in the middle of the match.

you guys are delusional

We have plenty of players in his position already on the books to take his place if he doesn't work out. Essentially he'll likely be player 17 (the third middle forward on the interchange) in our top squad going forward.

I'm not sure what the big deal is in reality.
