I hear ya. Yeah, maybe we did sound him out, but I must say I doubt it... as much as we hate News Ltd and journo's in general, they usually have good mail and there was no smoke around us approaching him or anyone in that position for that matter...

I have just been thinking, wing is now such an important position and we have (seemingly) neglected it. We are sorely lacking speed in our backline and a hard worker in that position. Acknowledge it's easy to criticise without knowing the full story, but hey, that's what the forum is here for right? I'm adamant our recruitment is lacking in terms of the targets addressing our weaknesses to help us take the next step

We've all been impressed with how the leaks have stopped - perhaps that was a factor in why there was "no smoke around us approaching him".

I very much doubt our recruitment team - who know the ins, and outs, of our roster, and salary cap - are sitting on their hands, doing nothing...

Totally buddy and I’m far from saying we are perfect. I just think the stuff we talk about today the club probably identified months ago. I’m certain it’s an incredibly complicated process.
I guess as fans we also get the privilege of being able to watch a player signed that everyone wanted and if they fail to fire we have the luxury of hindsight and criticism.
They are far from perfect but I don’t envy their job.

I predicted a few weeks ago the Sharks to miss the 8.. looking good at the moment being down 14-0 against Manly.

Next they have Panthers /South's / Tits / Cowboys / Knights / Raiders.

Their form should see them winning 1 in my prediction

I disagree. He will come good.

In fairness to Joffa, he joined us mid-season from the team coming last.

I suspect with a decent off and pre-season under his belt he will likely improve immensely.

I think he at least should be given until this time next year before we judge him.

If we bought a player in high demand (like Timoko if he was off contract) we’d be paying plenty for it. Given the strength of our squad already it’s not really feasible. It’s the bargain bin for us in the short term at least.

That because we have to many stinkers in our squad already that don't deserve to be there because they have no real potential.

Since he did his ACL he has been plod maybe a few times he has shown signes of life but mostly plod.

I reckon if you go back and look you'd find plenty on here praising him for how well he went when he returned from the ACL.

And deservedly so.
