They're not excuses - they're mitigating factors.

Pretty much the only team that might not struggle with the amount of disruption we have had is Penrith, and that's more of a testament to their incredible juniors system, more than anything else.

We have not had our best 17 available all season long - that's a huge hurdle to overcome.

Played Cowboys without Origins stars
Manly without Dce and Turbo and his brothers
Storm without Olam,Papa,Tui 1st up and Papa,Olam,Remis,Big Nelson and Coates injured for last 20
Penrith before hit their straps and playing like busted ducks
Sharks without HYNES and a 10 point lead at home.....
Titans missing Brimson both games.....

We also get to play Brisbane after a hard road game to Townsville.

Win 3/4 and we make 8. Not impossible with 2 easy games at home. Just need to pull one big win.

I’ve said this before and will say it again, if merkins want go blame someone then they should go hunting for whoever failed to deal with the pandemic, because when we came out the other side we looked like a club who lost 18 months in development. Compare us to some other clubs who seemed to plan around it and cope much better. This year our depth was trash, yet you can see that next year we have a new wave coming through. It’s clearly a telling factor.

Unfortunately for us, that new wave might not be quite ready to make a significant impact into the NRL squad until 2025.

I dont think roosters will be easy .... they seem out of finals contention now and pressure will be off .... they will probably be that team that wins games they shouldnt at the end of the season

We needed these and we'd be top 4

End of the day if we miss the 8 then BA has to be told 2024 is his last year at the club, and if we are not in the top 8 come round 8 next year then we shake hands and he enjoys a holiday.

we have little to no money going into 24, our squad is 80% locked in and probably 90% of the cap values, so there is no point punting BA before the season as anyone new coming in now had no $$ or latitude to change the squad.
The big fear would be that Barrett inherits the job.

Pandemic or not... it's that lost 18 months in development that is still impacting our squad composition today.

And who's to say that wouldn't still have occurred regardless of everyone having to come out of the pandemic period?

Been one of those trainwreck years. Those 3 weeks at the start have wrecked our season.

Has us behind the 8-ball straight away.

Win 2 of those which we should have and I say we play finals.

Sometimes missing the finals is a kick up are the arse for everyone.

I think the club has settled into a bit of a comfort zone. Which can be a bad thing.

Like wtf haven't we been told our membership numbers for this year we are one of the few clubs that havent released those figures.

jimmy sarantinos liked to spriuk last year about the records set in memberships.

Have we gone backwards after a GF appearance and the club is too embarrassed to release the figures.
I sure the figures are on the NRL site under membership.

Jesus f**kin christ .... can we pluck any more excuses from our arses.
Ok its the pandemic and we are a shit club.

No wait. Maybe its global boiling and no one trained us to play in the hot.
Since when did I say it was an excuse, when I literally said that whoever was in charge of that part of planning totally f**ked it up ?

Our juniors have been neglected for much longer than 18 months.

manly have raped us while we’ve only seemed to focus on the rhinos for jnrs. Hasn’t gotten us very far…
