It's all part of our dastardly plan.
Foran bins contract to find himself, paving way for Hayne's return.
Foran then discovers the root of his problem is the size of his contract and so returns to the club at a 10th of the price.
Everyone wins. Except Avenger

Agreed. Though we could've afforded Townsend if he was off contract. He would be a perfect foil for Norman. Next best would be Green or Hastings.
Hastings would be good, still young and has a lot of improvement in him.

Green would be good too but is probably at this peak and won't get much better. Also there is the risk that his form is due to the storms structure and may not perform at that level somewhere else, as happens to so many players once they leave the storm.

I'm warming to Hastings, great kicking game for someone so young but would need to work on his defence, we run over him a couple of times on Friday, Peni run over him in the first set.
Plenty of up's, he is young and can improve his defence. Green is good now, both would be a simliar price i'd say too unless Hastings expects to be paid on his u20's form not what he has done in the NRL.

5. French/Gurtherson
6. Hastings/Green
7. Norman
or
1. Gurtherson
2. Semi
3. Jennings
4. Taka
5. French
6. Hayne
7. Norman

Which is better? option 2 and use the money on a prop not a half?

Jarryd Hayne on Facebook said:
Last Friday I had a meeting with Ben to discuss my future with the team and I was informed that my time has ended. As much as I would have loved to go to Rio, I too knew I wasn't ready yet. During my time with the team, I pushed my body above and beyond. I used all my experience as a professional athlete and have tried everyday and in every way possible to make this team and make it better but unfortunately, time has been against me.

I've loved every minute of training with the Fiji Rugby 7's. Not only are they back to back world champions but they are a bunch of guys who have welcomed me into the team as one of their own family.

It was hard to comprehend and understand at first why I came here? Why God put me here, but deep down I knew there was a reason and a purpose. God takes you places not so you can achieve what you set out for, but to play a part and help something greater than yourself.

This has been an amazing journey for me and a truly humbling experience. I have learnt so much and will never forget my time with this team.

I want to thank Ben and the entire coaching staff, the players and especially the fans. The support of the Fijian fans and fans around the world over the past few months has been incredible. I am mesmerised at the love and passion people have for the 7's.

For now, I'll be in camp with the team until mid-week before heading back home to Sydney for some time out and will determine my next steps from there. I'll enjoy watching from afar and wish the team all the best of luck on their road to Rio.

Going to miss our prayers twice a day, endless laughs and ma man Sharkie! Nothing but love for the taganes.

Can anyone else see all these assumptions that Hayne is already signed ending in tears?
Yep.

He's probably just using us to up his (cross-code) price, like loads of other players linked to us seem to do (see Rochow above).

Arthur owes Hayne nothing - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he has a negative oponikn due to Hayne's late notice early departure from his contract for purely personal reasons (of the selfish/ambitious kind). Arthur had to scramble to recruit and adjust the 2015 team as a result.

To me Hayne is no shoe in for a halves role - untested, two years away from the game. He'd cost too much as a fullback and impact the balance of the squad when we need to soend money in props (and a real half). Hayne represents a big risk rather than a saviour - and Arthur doesn't strike me as someone desperate enough to take a risk without having his own previous connection (eg Foran).

Agreed, and considering last time they tried him in the halves he bombed spectacularly, I'm not really too confident in him taking on a halves role, plus he isn't going to be the organisational half that we need.

Solid first graders usually look like stars in a team with no weaknesses. That's why I believe a team is always better off fixing shortfalls before signing stars.

As for Green he is certainly at his peak - he turns 30 at the end of the year, so would be no chance of improving. He would also have to play on our right side. Though, like Foran, he has a right foot kicking game, which would make the transition easier.

If he comes it will be for huge money, and he won't necessarily be worth it. We'll have a better balanced side without him. Corey Norman should be our highest paid player, at about $700k

If he insists on playing fullback I necessarily wouldn't have him back at a huge price. As I always stated I want him back as a 6. I suppose Arthur knows best. Certainly wouldn't be paying him crazy money like $1.5m. If he wants that he should just go to Union and eat sushi or croissants.

The problem is that he's worth $1.5M

Common sense says that you sign Hayne for $1.5m after you terminate Foran. Impose termination conditions on Foran that prevents him from playing for any team in 2017. Then we have an option for his services 2018/19.
