The problem is that he's worth $1.5M

I don't think he is anymore. He walked away from a $1.4 million dollar offer in late 2014. He has been out of the game for 2 years. He is marketable but anything more than a million under the cap is a massive risk.

Pou's right. He's worth $1.5m cos if we don't pay him it, someone else will.

If he does it will only happen in RU, I cant see anyone paying 1.5mill for a 29 year old who hasn't played for that long in the NRL. He has also said many times that he could not play against Parra.

Just cant see it happening. I also dont think its all about the money for Hayne.

Exactly Twiz. He has failed at Rugby 7's. Does he want to test himself at the 15 man version at age 29? I don't think so. Also if he plays at 6 he will waltz into the halves for NSW but not at fullback with Tedesco now being there.

I don't think his time out will mean anything by the end of a full pre-season. It's not like he's been on a low protein diet and riding a push bike for two years.

I think Hayne has at least another 3 really good years in him.
If it plays in the halves it could be more.
Look at JT and Lockyer how long they can play in the halves, Locky played in a dinner suit for the last 2 years he played bearly got tackled.

The Plane always talks about challenges. If he want's a challenge in life, how about he perfects playing in the halves and wins Parra a comp.

What the hell happened to you?

A week ago you were ready to jerk him off behind the sheds. You were adamant that we should sign him at any price.. What's the go? I mean, I agree with you, but why the backflip in opinion?

The emergence of Bevan French. That kid is the future. I love Hayne but only at 6 and if he plays initially at 1 I hope the long term plan is to move Hayne to the halves.

Do you think she's suited to 6 though? They tried that once before and it went horribly. Maybe the time away and the exposure to NFL/RU might have made a difference enough, but I don't know.

He made his bones as a fullback, and it's obviously what he's best at, It'll all depend if he is willing to work to become a 5/8 I guess.

I agree completely about Bevan being the future at fullback, that kid is incredible.
