Agree.

If injuries to key players, or just shithouse form across the board from the team sees us out of Finals reckoning two thirds in to the season, look for Semi to go ona couple of mercy dashes to Fiji and seek time out again and ask for an early release hoping to hook up with Toulon by August...

In one way, it's good that we are playing hard-ball with Radradra and not releasing him early; but my fear is that he won't be giving us his complete attention this year. It's a hard decision to make. If I take this situation in isolation, I'd piss him off early. Trouble is you don't want to set a precedent for others to follow in Radradra's rather large footsteps. It'll be a massive loss - the best winger in the world by a long way - but I'm over this guy. Seems like he only ever had one foot in our door anyway.

Disappointing but not unexpected. Hopefully he gets to play out this season with us and it is a successful one.

Really don't know why everyone thinks the roosters will suddenly improve. Yeah Pearce is back and they did sign Keary/Gordon but the rest of their signings are fringe players.

They may improve a bit but I don't see how they will improve as much as some commentators expect.

Also interestingly it seemed like our defence improved last year while the Roosters got worse - the common factor, Jennings. He is underrated defensively.

Remember Cordner only played 12 games for them, Hargreaves 14, Nikorima 7, Copley 14, Pearce 12. They were big outs from the Roosters team.
And with the emergence of young talent like Latrel Mitchell, Ryan Matterson, (was very disappointed when we lost him), Connor Watson, Joseph Manu, Grant Garvey and Nat Butcher they have a very good team with exciting young talent.
Their signings are OK too, Liam Knight is a very talented front rower, Brook Gray could develop into a solid forward and with Luke Keary, Michael Gordon, Mitch Cornish and even Brendan Santi they have some solid NRL talent and back ups. They also have Paul Carter and if he can get over his off field problems he will be very good for them.

I just see to many holes in defense from the roosters. They can win a game by 20 and lose one by the same. It is a solid side but I still think a little raw.....

Semi was a great player at 250k but at 600k he is starting to cost a lot for a winger. Yes he is very special. But he also has weaknesses. One being the drama he brings. His reads in defense aren't his strongest points. And the occasional goof ball handling errors and ball grounding I never liked. There are safer wingers out there and defending wingers- Of course attack wise he is No - 1.
Everyone will remember the flashes of brilliance thou. He was made our focal point of attack so had the most chances.

As a club we need a blue print and to stick by it. Forwards win matches. Always go with a strong forward pack and good halves. Allocate certain money to positions and don't stray to far.

350k would be MAX id pay for a winger and that gets you a high quality one at that.

The money I'd say Semi is currently on we won't be replacing him with too much. .certainly won't be replacing him with a player anywhere near the same calibre.

They were prepared to upgrade his 2017 deal and onwards in to 2018 and 2019. I would hazard a guess we can manage to sign a more than decent outside back for what he is "on".

That said with the likes of Auva'a not even fitting in to the 17 and the possible emergence of Aukofolau, Jennings, Afualo and more youngsters we might not have to look far. Sure they are t going to be the same calibre of player as Semi but really who is?

Or he could just behave like a shit merkin like Junior Paulo to secure an early release, I love how they all claim to love the club and the fans. They love the club as long as we are willing to pay them the most.

All he has to do is plead guilty in court next month and he's early release from the NRL will be a formality.

400k minimum I would think.

I would of payed Semi 500k he is that good, sounds like that's about what we offered him. Can't blame the club for not budging.

Semi is probably worth more than $500k simply because of him taking the ball up the middle quite frequently. His form with shenanigans over demanding more money mid contract and his unpredictable Fiji sojourns makes him unreliable and unworthy of marquee coin.

I think the Semi situation is a big part of the reason why we have completely revamped our middle forwards for 2017. The coaching staff know that if Semi isn't part of the team then we needed to come up with new players to provide the go forward.

Where do you think all these holes are when fully fit? JWH friend and napa in the middle are good defenders, good edge defenders in cordner and Aubusson, Pearce is a solid defender for a half and ferguson holds his own. Keary is small but I wouldn't say he is a glaring weakness, particularly if cordner defends inside him. I guess Latrell is risky but that is about all

how much do you think mansour is on?

Well merrin,tamou,moylan,cartwright wouldnt be cheap.
Whare, hiku, peachey, dwz, would have demand of decent coin.

Mansour id put at 300 + 100 tpa. Only way i could see them affording him and he was re-signed mid season and bis season just got hotter and hotter.

I guess the 6,7,9 come at reasonably cheap prices.
