Screw the AFL.

They are dopes and it ruins all the momentum into the finals.

You will also find it has disadvantaged the top 4 teams as before the pre-finals bye. Barely anyone could make the GF from the bottom half of the 8.

Since the bye came in the top teams who had another week off in week 2 were getting ambushed in the prelim finals due to lack of match fitness one game in a month. I think i heard a few years back the winning record jumped from 90% of teams getting into a GF off a week off in week 2 before the finals bye to less then 50% in a 5 year period after it got introduced.

Western Bulldogs won the comp from 8th in its first season it came in due to it.

They would never have won the comp if the pre-finals bye wasn't there.

Anyway @Poupou Escobar lives in AFL heartland i am sure he could add to that analysis.
A fair arguement. Gus has nfi obviously. 😁

I would almost not do it out of spite to the AFL.

Why give them the satisfaction they came up with the idea first.

At the end of the day you earn the right to rest players a week from the finals if your in a position to do so.

We did it in 2021 because we couldn't move up or down the ladder and got spanked i didn't enjoy it.

On the other hand in 2020 & 2022 we had to bust our gut and win the last round to scrape into the 4 which we did but used up too much petrol probably to get there.

The problem with this right wing conspiracy movement is while they are all against being oppressed but very happy to oppress those deemed not like them. Smells like fascism to me.

The only quote you need to know:
“There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”
Warren Buffet

Everything else is BS and distraction to keep us fighting amongst ourselves.

Except the average conservative earns less than the average progressive. People like Buffet are hardly representative of any voter.

They can't afford to stretch the season out any longer anyway, especially now with Vegas round. Old mate Newton’s eyes would pop right out of his head.

Thats where they are being deceived.. Buffet in no way claims to be the average voter. He is referring to the super wealthy of which he is part of.
Nobody is being deceived. Progressive voters are choosing an unproven utopian society while conservatives are choosing a connection to the past. Both are aware that they are in opposition to ‘elites’ who at worst wish them harm, and at best see them as ants that must unavoidably be drowned when a dam is built.

The difference is who these villainous elites are. Progressives see them as billionaires like Buffet and Musk (but not any progressive billionaires), while conservatives see them as unelected government bodies, and in recent years, nonprofits and corporations.

You think your average MAGA chud isnt being deceived? Look again.
Both sides are being distracted by culture wars.

i think the high wages f**ked holden and ford

Prior to the GFC GMH was planning a world platform being built out of Holden, and Toyota had just built an engine plant with plans to serve Asia, all based on a long term exchange rate of 65-75c USD, but also all under the same wages regime.

Exchange rate going to 1.10 USD after the GFC was the final nail, It completely killed their ability to export product, wages had f**k all to do with it.
