I reckon ba will go and try and replicate the gameplan of 2022.he won't try anything new like give barrett too much control over the attack and have a poor start like this year

Does BA even have a different game plan to 2022?

I thought BA tried to replicate the 2022 game plan in 2023... it's just with Hodgson and without some of the guys that left, and with everyone a year older it didn't go as well for us?

What do you mean a different game plan?

Defense is our biggest issue we have a good plan with Moses big ass kicking game but need to be more aggressive in defense.

We are better served investing our limited resources in improving our defence. Because our attack is good enough for finals footy.

Agree defence had become abysmal. But we're very predictable in attack without enough strike power to more than rarely put oppositions in two minds.

We scored 100 tries this year.

Attack while predictable at times I didn't think cost us any game this year outside of maybe Round 1 against Melbourne where we were rusty.

But despite the number of tries we didn't really compete against any top teams (Penrith aside), and our attack this year was not a patch on that on display by teams that made the final four.

I've agreed our defence was shit... it's just that our attack wasn't great either (except when judging by context-less stats).

When we won our Points for was : 377 points 31.5 average Against: 184points 15 average.

When we lost our Points for was: 210 17.5 average Against: 390 points 32.5 average.

Our defense was the issue...

So in games we lost, our attack average points went down by 14 points per game... but our defence was the sole issue?

100% Thats the issue that BA has it seems he doesn't look at our defensive issues and see them as a problem and thinks we just need to be better at attack. Like what you are saying...

BTW our defense in 2018 was better than this year..

I agree BA can't fix our defensive issues... it's clearly beyond him, with this year's ageing starting middle forward roster (Hodgson, Paulo, RCG - yuck) and his poor bench rotations.

But I'd argue that he didn't try and improve our attack at any point in 2023 either?

At the beginning, our attack was very different. We had set plays like the panfers. It looookwd very barrett-tisque. Thwre was alot of movement.

But because we lost too many games, ba took the helm back and went back to what we used to do.

To get another 2 year extension, he'll go back to 2022 style. We might get a good draw with crap teams and power through them

They were definitely bigger across the park. Great for winning junior comps but not so great for future NRL players in 2023.

yeah I have absolutely no issues with our attack, however the other 50% of our game sucks donkey balls.
