This year sucked, but it’s far from the worse we’ve been through, even in the last 10 years.
1 less boneheaded decision and we’re in the 8. It has just been exaggerated as it was on the back of a GF.

i am worried my son is going to be lost to us. My wife is tragic broncos supporter and despite him siding with her in his toddler years, the last 5 or so years I’d managed to get him firmly on the eels bus thru persuasion. But he felt the GF loss last year hard and now seeing his mum so happy, if the broncos get up I reckon he may swing. Wouldn’t blame him as it would be 7 wins for them all since we last won.

I’m also fighting the fact if he turns bronco he can readily see his team as we’re on the GC instead of only seeing the Eels 1-2 times a year

It is a payout. It's an agreed-upon amount of money given to the player upon termination of his current contract. So basically a new contract is written up.

No matter how it is paid, either a lump sum in its entirety, a once-a-month payment, or spread out over 10 years, it's still a payout.
No it’s not. A payout implies a lump sum. You think that Manly gave him $600k which comes off the cap in one hit?

The reason why our club searches for these type of arrangements is because we basically have no TPA’s and this situation supplements the players contract by another club who is out of favour but still under contract. How can it be a payout if he is still under contract?

When it’s a payout the club has dispensed with him entirely with no further responsibility. That’s not the case if he continues to receive payments from that club on a monthly basis which happens in almost every situation. There is a difference.

Unsurprising. There's no reason Manly would pay him out all upfront. Even if the payout was only over a single year they would prefer to spread it out with the rest of their payroll. And since it counts against their salary cap they would likely prefer to spread it over multiple years.

If they're paying him to leave it's a payout. If you want to call it something else to help you live with your shit attitude that's your business. But it's a payout. It could even be described as compensation.
It’s a circle jerk that’s what it is. It doesn’t matter what the f**king topic is you will take the high road. You devils advocate mother f**ker. 😛

I’m voting, Yes. You know why? Because it doesn’t affect me. Let me guess what you’re voting?

Haven't you been listening. I have.

The amount of games I have actually watched in the last 2 seasons is probably around 6-7. I just don't bother anymore. I fast forward and if the ruck is porous I just keep fast forwarding.

Games last 10 mins in my household. We suck. Defense is just not good enough. We will win nothing while our defense is sh*t. Not hard to see. Takes two three mins and you get the feel of what's coming and it is rarely good.

We are losers and we will always be.
Dude.

yep, that's exactly what I thought.

People can support the club however way they choose fit, but I'm loathed if I'm going to be a miserable merkin about it for the rest of my life..

this club has given me more pleasure than the 4 premierships that I witnessed, it's given me a a shit load of good times and many many lifelong friends, in fact half my wedding guests were Parra fans including my best man and groomsman and I would not of met them had it not been for this place and in particular the club we support.

I get as shitty and as emotional as the next bloke after a poor performance and poor year but always heartened at the hope that we'll be back on the field in February doing it all again.

You just gotta remind him only the real strong people support Parra. Who tough it out year after year.

People may think its child abuse. I call it character building.
