It doesn’t work that way. He gets two payments for the entirety of his original deal. One from Manly and one from us, usually on the 15th day of each month.I’d believe it. More accurately, I’d believe they have offered a payout to get him to agree to leave. Whatever that payout is, it has no bearing on Tuilagi’s negotiation with us or any other potential gaining club. It would only influence his decision to leave Manly. Obviously he would have an offer (or several) in hand before agreeing to Manly’s payout figure.
Its a great idea by Ricky to pick up young talent from other sides. Will it work though are they all going to gel? only time will tell...
For some reason we have decided to build from Matts up and develop that way the only issue is we are not convincing these kids to stay and continue to come through ALA the Penrith system...
There is more chance of Sanders turning into Docker Clay than anything remotely looking like a NRL regular halfback. We have our 7, he can f**k off and if he makes it we will buy him back like we did Moses. You guys lost Sanders the minute you signed Moses long term. He was always leaving because there is literally nowhere for him to go. Yes Penriff are doing an outstanding job of developing juniors, but there is no Sanders or even the next Cleary coming through because that position is full for many years to come. They have Cogger as Clearys back up (not a junior).

There is no payout you f**king idiot, it’s not compo.
I'm seeing this comment a lot lately (not just from you).
I don't think you really mean that. Would you like Kearney or Stuart to return as head coach?
I know you are a pretty emotional guy, especially when it comes to the Eels. You've been posting about Arthur with very derogatory words, like 'buffoon', 'idiot' and such, which hasn't really been your style. It's had me a bit worried and thinking if you're ok. This season may have actually broken you.
To be honest, yes - this season broke me.
I've never been more embarrassed to be a member of this club.
In our golden wooden spoon seasons, we had a roster that was pure trash.
But this year...even despite the injuries, and suspensions, we had a solid team, and we couldn't make the 8.
I'm done with this team.
I know I'm serious, too, because I literally watched us play maybe 3 games all season long, and wasn't cut up about missing our games.
Brad Arthur is not a buffoon, or an idiot, or any other derogatory term I've used in an emotional diatribe aimed at venting - but he is stubborn, uninspired, and predictable, and he just needs to go.

This team has broken so many of us. They really don't deserve our loyalty anymore. I Wouldn't support them in a million years if I was a young kid just starting to pick a side.
Loser of North Sydney Bears proportions. I would welcome a spear through the head if the NRL sore fit to do so at this point.
Really the biggest waste of my time and energy I have ever spent. Massive regret I ever followed these losers.
Oh well to late now, but definitely lost my real love for them a while ago now and just going through the motions till I croak it.
Will never spend another cent on them though. Just leaches that eat way more then they ever produce in happiness for me.
Just telling it the way I feel too.
Sorry to hear you feel that way.
Being passionate about a sporting team is a rough road. You get to experience some amazing highs, but then you've also got to suffer through some awful lows. Some teams have more of one or the other, and unfortunately ours is probably closer to the latter throughout our lifetimes.
I am invested in this team (and a couple of others...but not to the same degree as the Eels) and I ride the emotional rollercoaster like everyone else. Years ago I would be like how you are right now, taking every loss hard and being miserable for a week until we got to lose again so I could be miserable for another week.
Things have changed a bit for me these days. I still get sad over losses. I get cranky. I look for someone to blame. But I try to understand why it's happening and get on with my life until the next week. I've got a partner and two kids, I can't be cranky all day any more. Do I think Arthur should be replaced? Maybe, I don't know. But I do understand why he is still there. I don't think he's a bad coach at all, just maybe a little limited.
This season sucked, with only a few meagre highlights for us. Hopefully next year will be better. It may end in disaster again...but you know what? We've been there before, and come out the other side eventually. We arent the same club that finished last two years in a row just over a decade ago. Hopefully we never become them again.
All I know is that when we eventually do win the whole thing - and I do believe it will happen eventually - then it's going to be the best f**king feeling ever! And I'm not about to tap out and give up on that. I hope you don't as well.
Enjoy the off-season, mate.
Why do it then?
If they cause you this much pain and trauma why don't you just stop watching?
Yes its just a game. Could have been worse. Better then being invaded by Russia at least.Yep we had a shit season... been supporting this team for 42 years never going to stop to be honest even when we were getting flogged in the early 90s and the early 2010s.
Last year was a great year making the GF this year not so much but I still got enjoyment from it..
Unsurprising. There's no reason Manly would pay him out all upfront. Even if the payout was only over a single year they would prefer to spread it out with the rest of their payroll. And since it counts against their salary cap they would likely prefer to spread it over multiple years. It doesn’t work that way. He gets two payments for the entirety of his original deal. One from Manly and one from us, usually on the 15th day of each month.
If they're paying him to leave it's a payout. If you want to call it something else to help you live with your shit attitude that's your business. But it's a payout. It could even be described as compensation. There is no payout you f**king idiot, it’s not compo.
ffsIt is a payout. It's an agreed-upon amount of money given to the player upon termination of his current contract. So basically a new contract is written up.
No matter how it is paid, either a lump sum in its entirety, a once-a-month payment, or spread out over 10 years, it's still a payout.
