Top 30 isn't a ranking of player quality - it's a ranking of the players salary against the rest of the squad and sometimes a club will pay more to secure a player for the future despite their current placement on the "quality of squad" scale.
They’re two separate things but also proves my point a bit.
No one’s arguing there’s 30 contracted players, but just because they are in the top 30 paid players, that doesn’t mean they are in the top 30 in quality, proven by the end of your post that a potential top 30 player is contracted, while a contracted top 30 player is not.
We’ve just got the reverse of that situation where Moimosea is contracted top 30, and Moretti is not and I’d like to see anyone argue that Moretti did not have the better season and right now appears to have the brighter future.
A lot of Pou’s argument is around Moimosea being of an age when he won’t get worse, where that is wrong because players can get worse regardless of age. At best the more likely situation is he doesn’t get better or worse, but other players get better and overtake him.

Please don’t get sucked into that. Pou’s argument is all about - an argument and continual turd polishing.

Used to work in logistics it was amazing how shit things turned the moments systems went down and relied upon.

Basically shut down the whole operation.

That’s just silly semantics after I responded to you saying something would happen.
What did I say would happen? That he would remain top 30 quality? Read between the lines. I mean he will most likely remain top 30 quality. Just like younger players will most likely improve and older players will probably decline. Waqa Blake declined and he is only 28. It’s unexpected and so doesn’t mean a long contract was a bad idea. He was 24 when he signed. The balance of probability was that he would still be at his peak when he came off contract, not fall off a cliff in the final year.
So he definitely moved ahead of Moimosea in pecking order.
He was always ahead of him.
And if one player is no longer up to the new standard, then he is no longer top 30 quality.
I disagree there is a new standard. The standard is set by the top players in the game, who the worst players in the top 30 might need to face on the field. ‘Top 30’ standard isn’t set by the worst players in the top 30. Otherwise they would all meet it, by virtue of circular logic. I’m sure you’re aware we are talking past each other at this point and I suspect you’ve done it deliberately for laughs. Well played.

To be honest, I didn't bother reading all of Pou and your posts about Jirah.

My take on him is simple, we looked at him as a project player and to get him on the books we needed to pay him an amount that would put him into our top 30 paid players. Since we have had him at the club, his potential has been reassessed and although he remains in our top 30 paid players, he has been overtaken in the pecking order by others, such as Moretti. He gets lots of game time in reggies because we are paying him too much to play RMC and that means he can fill in wherever we need him to until his contract runs out.

I know it's easy to blame the RRC but i wonder if there is an individual who initially made the recommendation to sign him..?

It it was recruitment manager, he should be sacked..

if it was the GM, he should be sacked..

if it was the head coach he should be sacked..

It it was his Player Manager than he should be running a Nigerian scam unit..
