Bold prediction: Brad Arthur to be sacked after missing the finals

Analysis: He may have led the Eels to the 2022 Grand Final, but the Eels slumped to miss the finals altogether last year in a disappointing season. Arthur wasn’t helped by a suspension to Dylan Brown, but he will have his full compliment in 2024 and has to lead the Eels to the finals or his future at the club will be on thin ice. 2024 will be Arthur’s 11th full season at the club and while Parramatta have been consistent and played finals footy most seasons they have only looked like breaking their title drought just once. If Arthur can’t get the side firing in 2024 then it might be time both parties went in different directions to bring a fresh Voice into the club with a new vision on how to get the club its first title since 1986.

That isn't a real prediction - it simply surmises what might happen IF we don't make the finals.

A real prediction would be to predict that we miss out on the 8 and BA is sacked, but I guess if the author thinks we make the finals (and therefore Arthur is safe), there isnt really a story. And of course, they dont want to actually predict we miss the 8 because the likelihood is that they are wrong.

I know some of his mates, his departure from the Tigers was dealt with extremely savagely. He wasn’t just sacked, he was head slammed by Pascoe. Viciously.

Nice to see the video production team create this type of stuff.

Clubs should be brave enough to do more of it especially in pre-season.

You cant compete with the NFL & EPL who do this stuff with the clubs all the time.

But still there is no reason in 10 years time this cant be the norm.

The clubs could even create it & sell it off to Fox or Amazon if they like.

Have a whole pre-season documentary and release it 1 week out from the season would be perfect timing.

I am sure most fans would love to sit and watch it get em pumped up for the season.

There’s some mirroring of the roles. They’re both backs and usually the line generates gaps for them to break through. But yeah this is likely simply there aren’t enough good players in the Queensland high school gridiron comp so he’s forced to play offence and defence in whichever roles suit him in either side

Thats another 3 games QLD teams wont have to travel to Sydney then.

Unfortunately it’s the NRL preference for it to be a QLD team. Also I believe NT government have some say over it. Plus other clubs can veto. But it should never be Brisbane. They draw well enough down here that the extras they draw in Darwin would never be enough.
Dolphins is weird one, losing the extras interested in seeing the new team but eventually we’ll play them down here (and more than once in a season).
Hopefully the new deal means we can dictate taking the Tits there

I hear what you are saying and Ive experienced my fair share of crazies but the bottom line is either you are for equality and freedom for all Australian citizens or you are against it. No society has ever been perfect and its likely it will never be. If you gave me a choice to live now or in the 50s I would choose now without hesitation.

Is the $1million really worth it at the end of the day. If those 2 points ain't achieved by the side. Like it wasnt the difference between us and making 8 this year when we missed out by 1 game. As there were others we pissed away. But gee playing at Commbank where we have close to a 75% winning record since it reopened we have built a pretty good fortress and tough to beat there.

We basically have given away our rights for 1 home game for a bit of extra cash.

Anyway i have been to Darwin in 2021 was a great week up there we flogged the Broncos had Anzac day up there went and did some fishing, saw some crocodiles went out to Kakadu.

No rush to go back for me.

Would be nice if the club want to sell a home game maybe try somewhere else where the climate isn't as big a factor.

At least if they take it to Perth both teams have to fly 5 bloody hours to the joint. And you dont have the weather as a lottery.
