I have interest in the build of the cellar dwellers. There are two clubs. Tigers and the Dogs. Both are going about it in different ways. Could perhaps add the Dragons to the mix but I don't feel like they've been as weak. But all 3 clubs look like they'll struggle. Who has the best chance of breaking out of this group? One would have to think Dogs have the money and more playing talent but that doesn't always translate to success.
Of the 3 clubs I think the Tigers are the one who might rise up and be the first to make the top 4. It won't happen this year but 2026 is possiblem

Watching an old 2011 game on Fox. Quick point.

I miss Fui!
Geez Ben Smith was all effort.
Luke Burt was very quick between the ears.
I watched the same game. Plenty of plodders in the game too. Justin Poore, Shackelton, Ryan the shlong Morgan.

Pou’s favourite coach and the man that he used his first turd polisher on was there and BA was his assistant.

I saw Hayne playing at 6 scored a good try and nearly another and then after that failed second attempt when he toed the ball forward just lied there and gave the opposition time to regroup and score on the other end. Typical Hayne there. He was the most talented lazy merkin that’s ever played for us.

If only Hayne was as dedicated to RL as Pou is to polishing turds. We’d have won 4 comps and he’d go down as the greatest RL player ever.

Sooooooo many plodders hey. I’d still love a Mr Fixit Ben Smith though today.

Don’t forget Lasalo was playing 12. He was garbage as was an aging Reni Maitua at lock.

Althought Chris Hicks played well that game he was well past it as was Casy Maguire at 7. Matt Keating at hooker was also worth a debate or seven.

And Pat O’Hanlan the best junior forward to come through since Hindmarsh. LOL.

Haha Pat O’Hanlan was absolute garbage. The amount of merkins that talked him up was laughable.

I think a fair portion of our problem is personnel/structure. We’re setup with a particular style. @Glenneel’s favourite fat props in RCG/Paulo, rangy edge forwards a distributor hooker and some “small”/combo forwards in Hopgood, Matto & Ofahengaue. None of which have elite lateral movement, plus they also have important attack roles which means fitness becomes a factor in balancing effort on each side of ruck.
I asked for bigger forwards with skill, bigger than what we had at the time (Alvaro, Mannah). Now the game has changed slightly again where smaller mobile forwards are the flavour of the month. But imo bigger forwards have a role and skilful forwards are a way to disrupt well organised defenses. Our pack is amongst the best but more importantly is probably the most skilful of the lot.

Our forwards just need to be on the park it's the outside backs and speed which is the concern.

Joffa with a full pre-season should be Parra-fit and any loose debris from the Tigers stint should be washed away.

Lane can't be as unlucky as he was last year.

Reg just needs to stay on the park he is our best and most important forward. Pou was right when he said we have never conceded 40 points in a match when Reg has played for Parramatta considering since he joined we have conceded 40 points on 5 occasions all games he wasn't there for.

And Dylan just needs to pull his head in off the field and stay focused.

Take out all the stupid suspensions last year we only missed the finals by 1 game. 3 or 4 close games we lost go the other way we made the top 4.

Lyon scored 15 tries and played in a grand final at 19. Not many centres are that good so early in their career. I believe Talagi turns 19 this year, and he is our most promising outside back. He will be lucky to play half a dozen games this year, though I expect him to debut.

Davis had only played three games in reserve grade by the time he was 20.

He was a great junior. The laughter is more about how we are so garbage at developing these talented players.
Believe he had a serious knee injury just as he was make debut: never recovered fully after that. Went to the Dogs both literally and figuratively.
