Rumours and Stuff

Maybe he got one with Mitch being out most of the season. The decision makers at our club love to find an excuse.
Is there any ounce of footy nous on the board? Is it just a business to them now?
Do they not understand the financials will improve significantly if this club could win a premiership?
The sponsorships and memberships would increase exponentially. Pay what and who it takes to deliver the premiership result...
We may need to even build another stadium if we eventually win one again

They probably think the opposite. Once we win a premiership, the hunger will die, and they will lose memberships..... It could be intentional that they are only recruiting a team good enough for finals footy, but not good enough to win it all....hmmmm

Stumbled upon a podcast run by a group of parra fans (Talking Parra) and just gave a listen to their episode from tonight.

lots of comments echoing what’s been said here etc, but an interesting comment was made by one of the blokes saying he has had it confirmed by a reliable source in the club that BA is largely being used as a puppet by MON and that he isn’t even getting final say on the team. Apparently Sivo is a forced pick each week as he has been shown to increase fan engagement and atmosphere and also gives us a stronger reach and relationship with the Fijian community.

I don’t know the bloke to know his contacts or legitimacy, but it’s a random thing to say publicly if you don’t believe it

I saw a muppet wearing South Sydney jersey. Trying to be the random souths fan.

Nothing infuriates more then someone wearing a jersey of a team when that team isn't playing.

If I went to a neutral game I wouldn't be wearing a Parra jersey it's just ridiculous.
You need to reprezent west side ffs

I think it's pretty obvious the club has upped its spending these days. The post-Covid economic recovery has been good for the PLC.

If we get Lomax, MON will have paid to much.

If we miss out, then LOL @ MON.

—-8<—-

We do need a centre. Sick of these weak as piss $250k centres. He’s a GK too. His current contract was for fullback coin so they say, I don’t know what a fringe origin centre is worth. Is he fringe ? Probably, but not as dynamic as the top shelf centres. Anyway if he wants to go to a club that has always wanted him, to go to a club where he feels loved, that’s us.

Can he though? If they agree to release him I assume he is taking all the risks now.
What I was talking about is chronologically. Lomax would not have agreed to be released from a good earner x 2 years without a heads of agreement on on the table.

To me, it makes sense that Lomax was ready to walk away from holding STG to their contract because he had irrevocable offers for 2025+ on the table. The only thing we don’t know is if there was more than one, as we may not be the only suitor.

Sounds absolute BS, and if it is true any coach worth his salt wouldn’t put up with it.

Spoke to a few non Eels fans around the traps who really know there footy they are amazed the lack of heat Teflon Brad gets from the media. Considering the shit guys like Demtriou and Ciraldo get.

Well I didn’t talk to you that’s for sure.

One of them has coached at a high level. I’d trust him to do a better job than the bald fraud in charge of our club.

Sure Jan. Just a coincidence that someone posts something that suggests BA doesn’t get it his way, so you you immediately post something that swings the pendulum back against him.

Won a grand final
Yeah he did but i can't recall him actually doing anything in that game. Maloney, SBW and Jennings had bigger impacts then Pearce.

DCE even outplayed him on GF day on a losing side.

Pearce should have won at least 2 comps with the sides he got to lead around the park at the chooks. Like lets be real they won 3 straight minor premierships between 2013-2015 they had the side to win at least 2 in that era of 2013-2017.

Cooper Cronk came in and got the job done both years he was at the chooks and the core group was the same as what Pearce had at his disposal.

Is that legal Gronky?
Can a club give a signed HoA without breaching the no negotiating clause?

I'm sure they can give a verbal agreement, potentially even shake on it in person, but I doubt there could be an irrevocably signed agreement.

Or maybe it is written communication with the player agent stating commitments in the subjective (would that get around the no negotiating thing? IF he were to become available, ONLY THEN would we commit to blah blah)

I always think, this merkin was too stupid to find the ground his team was playing at
