No he's not but i suppose i found it funny Gus is whining we might get him for a cheaper deal.

Like he wouldn't be trying to do same thing in his role at the Dogs.

TPJ retirement is as fishy as all hell.

Throw in the deal he did with the Wahs to get DWZ on big $$$ at the dogs off there books straight away in his GM role while still employed by the Wahs.

I think its a disgrace the NRL let him get away with commenting on issues/officials within the game under the media role tag.

He should be either a GM or a media official you shouldn't get the chance to have both.

If Lomax isn’t good enough to help the Dragons this year how could he possibly save Arthur’s job ffs

I doubt Lomax would want to take a 40% pay cut either, but the NRL set a cap value for a player based on what they think his value is to a club

An outside back who makes 15+ runs every week is worth plenty, especially considering they are an 80 minute defender. I think $800k is probably too much for any of them but the best ones (which we are hoping Lomax becomes) are easily worth $650k or more. Add goal kicking tax and Lomax is worth $700k+

The market changes in housing, money and other commodities. Why would a pissy NRL player market be exempt from fluctuations? Gould has a narrow view and won’t deviate from his little knowledge of the world and refuses to be told otherwise.

If Lomax’s own self awareness accepts that he is only worth $650k (the commodity in this instance) why would the NRL salary cap auditor think otherwise? The present market is the market. What was paid in the past is irrelevant especially when the current contract has been terminated.

Exactly. Why should one club suffer just because a different club got bent over in negotiations. He hasn’t even played proper rep footy, if we pay him anything over 500 we should get refunded the difference on our salary cap.

The club submits the contract and any third party deal to the NRL. The NRL then registers the contract.
