OKC finished top. They have Aussie Josh Giddey playing for them. Amazing how fast OKC Rose from last year. They have a war chest of draft picks as well. Bright future and nobody expected this so early.
On the flip side what a sad way Ben Simmons career has gone
Simmons has no one to blame but himself. He’s had the attitude of an entitled brat and he refused to accept any constructive criticism. It was always someone else’s fault. I get the feeling he doesn’t love the game and is just doing it for the money.

Yes but you should have to earn your 2 points. 6 points for doing nothing ridiculous.
True - but it doesn't matter either way because everyone gets it.

I don't have a dog in the fight, just saying it sux if you are 4 wins 0 losses and a bye, and are 2nd on the ladder behind the 4 wins 1 loss team - all because they haven't had a bye yet!
Equally sux the other way.

Get an 18th team and ditch the byes

He always had a serious deficiency in his game (shooting), which was amplified with a terrible attitude. I reckon the writing was on the wall very early for Benny.

He looks very gifted with ball in hand. He will have all of this year playing against men. I'd rather him at centre so he can make and practise tackling more so unsure why he is playing fullback. But n perhaps that where they see him.
Come the off season a guy his age and size will put on somewhere between 5- 7kgs. At that point his body will be a lot stronger for the collision.
I saw Penisni in NSW cup and his defense was terrible. I thought he was years away but come into NRL thst year. Within half a season he adjusted.
I'd be more concerned about guys like MA defense. Reason is body shape. He has no control how big he will end up and is on the smallish side. Blaize just needs to learn to make better reads and fine tune his technique.

How much smaller is Matt Arthur compared to Reed Mahoney?

Just means Brendan Hands has dropped even further down the pecking order.

I am stunned what has the kid actually done wrong.

He was developing very well last year.

I thought his trial against Canberra he was our best player he showed more craft around the ruck then last year and defensively is sound.

I think Hands will only come in now if Lussick and gets injured.

I assume BA thinks Blaize is more value on the bench

NRL Early Mail round 7: Boom rookie Blaize Talagi back for Eels, Matt Lodge returns for Manly

Eels coach Brad Arthur confirmed one of the club’s most promising rookies will return to the side

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur will re-call boom rookie Blaize Talagi after the youngster was dropped last weekend.
Talagi was named at five-eighth alongside Dylan Brown in the halves after halfback Mitchell Moses went down long term with a broken foot.
But after two straight losses against the Wests Tigers and Canberra, Arthur opted for Daejarn Asi in the halves against the Cowboys with Talagi omitted from the side.

But Arthur confirmed Talagi would be named against the Dolphins as an impact player off the bench.
“We’re going to use him off the bench this week. He can cover a few different spots for us. When it gets fast we might put him on through the middle. We’re going to experiment a few things with him because he does provide x-factor for us,” Arthur said on NRL 360.
“Blaize is a young kid that has a real ability to find space with the ball. He’s still learning the game. He handled the first three games physically for us. He’s just got to get on top of some detail.
