What about AJ from Titans from now, they are f**king shit he carried that side in the weekend!

Not sure what his best position is but he’s a good fullback and centre!
He always seems injured for mine.

He misses a chunk of games most seasons.

Plus he is a queenslander not many move down here anymore if they are already established up-there.

Reckon the Fins would be into him if he was keen to get out the GC.

Nick Cotric big contract ends this year. He certainly wont be offered anything close to what he is on now allegedly 650k.

Half his contract would have already been paid by Canberra in the cap this year.

If Canberra want Sanders now i would be asking for Cotric as a straight swap.

Like seriously our outside backs are in dire need of help. Sivo/Harper atm is just shuffling deck chairs on a titanic sinking ship out wide.

I am sure our club will hold out for Lomax this year but i cant see it happening.

Flanagan wont budge at least with Sanders/Canberra we have leverage to ask for a player in return that we desperately need.

Indeed. In the NFL, which our code seems to follow in many aspects like this, its not unheard of say for veteran players who were on big contracts at one club to sign with a different team on substantially less for a chance to win a championship. none of this "notional value" b/s. As far as I'm aware, the NBA don't do it either. Players often have to choose, do they want the max value $ wise or, take less to ensure the team has enough talent to compete for a championship?
Those caps have very specific and transparent rules and available contracts plus contract values are mostly public. Plus they are assignable/tradeable. The trade off is of course how much players are then paid, which the NRL can’t measure up to, but still some clarity around the rules would be nice. Although I also blame the rugba leeg media for misconstruing so much.

And that brings up other things. Those leagues have incredibly heavy restraints on cap tampering via media. I remember a couple of years ago Magic Johnson mentioned on social media that he thought Antekounmpo was a good player and the NBA fined the Lakers for it for tampering. Where here we have Gould several times a week telling us a player should be on a clubs cap for a notional value, or what’s wrong with the game rules this week, or generally commenting on anything which always comes with a clear bias.

You might say BA is evolving a little bit and taking risks his job is on the line.

Even the BA supporters would be aware he should be gone if we miss the finals 2 years in a row.

He knows he cant coast along and hope we make the finals. Its a results driven business.

Yep we are waiting for Moses to come back but we have to use to period to eke out as much as we can and not fall too far behind. Otherwise it could be too late when Moses returns.

Coming up with different plans to suit the fit and available side you have at our disposal that given week especially when a main playmaker is taken out.

Blaize on the bench is a good move. Darwin is hot and humid a bit of spark coming on just before halftime against a tiring aging pack that the Dolphins are is a good move.
i dont get when BA said he might get some time in the middle?

Lock?

or did he mean on the field

I know it has been forced - but I am also happy that they are doing what they can to keep him and his management relatively happy within reason - I think he could be a big part of our future as well, so much so that I will go as far as to say I think he should actually be at centre instead of Harper

I think it’s a wash defensively and his upside in both attack and defence is better
We will know if its been forced or not by the amount of minutes Talagi gets discounting injuries.

Yeah i would say his role would be come on and just roam/scheme around the ruck.

He can ball-play and he can run so there is no reason why he couldn't play there at lock.

Its just physically being an 18 year old kid is the major concern especially D as we saw in his first few games.

30-35 mins per game isn't that bad though atm he shouldn't fatiguing that badly especially if you break up his time before and after halftime.

I put it to you that physicality wasn’t his problem but rather it was his concentration and positioning in defence that led to so many low percentage attempted tackles.

We saw his physicality when he ran over Trbojevic.
If he isn't running over players at will like he did with Turbo in his debut game, then he obviously doesnt have what it takes. One game wonder for mine.
