What about AJ from Titans from now, they are f**king shit he carried that side in the weekend!

Not sure what his best position is but he’s a good fullback and centre!
Brimson is a great player just not sure where he’d fit now

You’d assume
Our centres are ether
Will and Lomax with guth at fullback or
Will and guth with lomax at fullback
Mitch and Dyl is the halves

AJ is not changing clubs to play winger or off the bench

I’d love a fast/ dynamic winger or a decent hooker

Pretty gut-wrenching this is at Accor not a world class venue in Allianz because of the A-league GF.

Was going to go to this at Allianz as i went last year and was a great night but probably wont bother at Accor its a shithole. I only want to go back for semi-finals or GF's.

Though i do believe this game is the extra ticket that was part of the Sydney Away game that was added to the membership this year.

Good signing at the right price.

I reckon BA will recruit his way in gaining another extension. Watch him sign another notable player soon.

My feelings on the whole situation.
1. There is pervasive, substantial self-belief (very close to arrogance) across management this is just an aging squad momentary dip and that they can retool in next couple of years.
2. Given they think the squad turnover can be down in short time frame, BA as coach is seen more favourably by them, I.e. if the next couple of years is a squad with no RCG, Junior, Matterson, Sivo and at least a reduced role for Gutho, then it’s basically a whole new team.
3. If they don’t get the signings they targetting/some of the player options are rejected or decide to move on BA, it won’t be “backwards”. They’ll focus on one of Bennett in some sort of role, Robinson as coach or wouldn't surprise me if they looked at someone like Sheens in a non-coaching role.

I don’t necessarily agree with it but I believe that’s the general club feeling. But yes if we have another notable signing (needs to be rep contender level at least).

We have Moses & Drown here for another 4 years.

In a comp crying out for quality halves we should be in the premiership window until 2028 with those two.

We have a pretty good roster that would be appealing to any new coach coming in. We play at a magnificent stadium that we have a 70% + winning record at after 5 years. And a large majority of the squad have played in a GF which is important experience if the core group get there again in the next few years.

Its about getting enough quality in other areas and fixing the mentality of this group to take them to the next level.

That includes getting rid of thinking were can just rock up every year on Easter Monday just expecting the 2 points.

That's been BA's biggest issue getting them consistent for 85-90% of the season. Clubs like Melbourne and Penrith have off games but they don't self-destruct and implode like we do once every 6-7 weeks.

Yeah I think the talk around us with Brimson was as an alternative to Lomax. The only way we sign Brimson is we lose Gutho and decide Talagi is no good

I think Drown has a player option for 2026 and Moses 2027.

They could easily be tempted elsewhere especially Drown. Maybe Sean Johnson retires and the warriors go all out for him

Understand you want to make everything negative, but that’s your Schtick, to be honest there wouldn't be any team in the NRL without a number of players held together by tape at this time of the season. It’s a brutal sport and it’s not unexpected.
It was a joke Joyce, lighten up ffs!!

That commute backing up the drive way must be getting to you.

Yeah agree mate but I don't want to go into another season having just one suitable player in each position. I dearly hope for some decent depth in the squad.

Agree with your assumptions also. Russell probably one wing, Sivo I hope isnt our other winger. From there though, who are our depth players, Harper and Simmo?

Agree I would love a speedster wing or a better Sivo.

It’s the first half where I think the club believes if it can rejuvenate the roster, that BA and some of the older hands can get them up to speed quicker than the current group got the opportunity in 2016-2019. As I said I think the arrogance is there that, if they get those players, that all the lessons from those years can be distilled into a much shorter timeframe so that rather than 2018, we jump straight to 2020.

The problem I have with that is, and I’ve said this before, I believe the upper management has recognised the “good operators” in Australian sport, let alone NRL are few and far between, and that all of them weren’t always good as they are now. So we’ve gone down the track of self developing them. Sarantinos is a better CEO than when he first joined. MON is better than when he was at Tigers. Say what you will but it’s undeniable BA has developed into a good coach. This is all great, but the problem is I fear the arrogance has got to the point where they believe they’ve reached the pinnacle. And we know that at best, it’s unproven they have. Some would say not winning a premiership and having these lacklustre seasons is in fact active proof they haven’t.

But then part of me also thinks maybe, just maybe, that arrogance is what we need. Is it deserved? Probably not. But was the turn of the decade Smugness deserved? No, but they’ve proven themselves right. And maybe that’s rugba leeg, maybe it is the right thing to do in developing a path and sticking to it even if people say you’re wrong. Hammer it until it is the correct call (or it completely collapses).
