Biggest concerns for 2018
Hooker
Prop top shelf
Line breaking 2nd rower
Agree Hindy, been sprooking for some time now need to invest in bigger props, and been shouted down constantly in other forum, majority saying our forwards (particularly last year) were top 8, I thought otherwise.
I will give our two younger hookers more time before passing judgement. And JT would make a huge addition to our pack! Unfortunately Moeroa I thought could be as good but still not in ballpark imo and still not sold on him.

Taumalolololo really only came good 2 years ago, at the same age Tepai is this season. Not saying he will ever be as good, but this season we're in a relatively good position. A team capable of at least playing finals, but lots of players still looking to prove themselves. Bevo, Gunco, Tepo, Kayso even Normo, not to mention all our newcomers. BA's problem will be making the call on these players in time enough to be in the market for replacements if needed

Taumololo has that barrel-like like upper-body which makes him hard to get a hold of and pull down when he gains momentum. Tep has a different body shape, I don't think he was ever going to be the same sort of player. I think Tep should be honing his game towards being a rep quality edge forward... Ryan Hoffman like. Not an out and out superstar but someone you can rely on every week

There will always be a place for wildly inaccurate, off the mark 'rumours' with no basis and no-one does them better than the Mole.

I for one can't moan about the demise of the RLW. I don't think I have bought an issue (or any magazine for that matter) for over a decade.

Last time I bought a copy was in 09 when we started on our late season run to the GF... prior to that it was probably back when Joe Bartolo and Robert Muchmore were first grade regulars....

The problem with this stuff is that by the time it hits our stand its all old news and all the rumours (which I used to love) are all old news.
If there was more actual journalism in the world you would probably get it but most journos just live off tabloid garbage.

It's reported that Saints want to give him a go at fullback (I think he's too slow these days) because he was a fullback in England before he came over here. But, yeah, I think he'd be a good fit at Parramatta.
He played fullback in the Melbourne Toyota Cup side back in '09.

Moeroa's already a better defender than Taumalolo.

RLW was a great Mag , was, the last few years it went downhill, more of a rag than a mag.
Shame because in the 80's and 90's it was the Rugby League Bible, scores from everywhere around the world, great articles not just on professional players but on park footballers too.

Name a print medium publication that hasn't gone from quality to crap since the advent of the interwebby thing and the now insatiable appetite for immediacy over quality.

It sux but it is just the way of the world now.

I've still got my RLW issues from the 70's/80's stored away in a box.
Love getting them out and having a read.
