Gutherson ‘frustrated’ at pace of Dragons negotiations​

Gutherson is on the hunt for a new club.​

It was reported earlier this week that the major sticking point in the deal being done was over the length.

Reports suggested Gutherson wanted three years to move to the Dragons immediately, but the club were only willing to offer a two-year deal.

It is the same sticking point which stopped the Dragons from signing Reagan Campbell-Gillard in September. The prop eventually signed a three-year deal with the Gold Coast Titans, turning his back on the offer available from the Red V, who have been desperate to bring in more experience ahead of 2025.

Read the courier fail today and there was a huge contrast with Eels training and Donkeys. They had almost full squad with a very tough opening session whereas we had almost nobody and light session. Hope things ramp up when full squad assembled, definitely need better fitness.

Dude come on. You’ve read a fluff piece in the Courier Mail and instantly compared it to what you’ve read about the Ryles first day…

We will have everyone at training when they are due to come back. If you are going to panic every day it’s gunna be a long preseason!

Give Ryles time, give the team time (at least to arrive FFS) and let’s just see what unfolds.

Also Madge reportedly coming in yelling and making everyone vomit on their first day in the Brisbane heat might get you excited but not everyone thinks that’s some kind of good thing these days… Have a listen to the Ryles interview he must state at least 5 times around the importance of pre season and culture.

Lastly, I mentioned I was told he thinks we have some terrific prospects that are real footy players (probably Melbourne player development rubbing off here) which is great but at no point did I indicate this negates us being heavily in the player market for class.

And there outstanding leadership on the field brought us combined together of 12 wins at 41.37%.

That's almost 10% below BAs career average of 51% win rate which gets celebrated on as some kind of master coach.

Both were failed signings and were garbage on field. There leadership influences never lead to any final success in the year they played or the year after.
