Massively overhyped junior. I’m stoked we didn’t end up paying the kind of money we were offering him.
The Jam pod ^^^^ said we paid $450k for Iongi, which is about the same as Blaize I think. It will be interesting to see 24 months on where both players are at.

How quickly you guys turn on the King.

The club tells him that they have nothing for him after this Contract and he should look elsewhere, but when he does....it’s greed.
Your club stans your legends for sport. Benji about to become the 100th victim soon.

I think we've got a good 'un, in Iongi.

Making 200+ metres, and breaking 8 tackles, in how First Grade debut, is pretty impressive.
Being able to catch bombs helps too. Plus he can tackle, plus we have have Papali’i as an alternative if it doesn’t work out. There is a guy called Lomax that could do it too.

Good riddance to Blaize.

Mozer for sure but I doubt we are looking at another middle forward. Too much money tied up there already and most likely the reason RCG was let go. Think we really need a class left edge backrower, lane to bench who can cover both middle and edge along with matterson
Appears we have some decent juniors coming thru but they'll need experience and we've already lost one good prop (RCG) with Paulo only having 1-2 seasons left in him. So we need a quality middle to cover those losses and May is it. Our squad needs a mixture of experienced and emerging players to be competitive and quality players are in short supply.

With longi he's been developed correctly. He played plenty of Flegg and cup before starting his NRL journey.

Blaize on the other hand was given the opportunity far too quickly. I wouldn't be shocked if he does end up playing a fair bit of cup for the panthers.

I don’t think it is. I think the release is dependent upon Gutho having a ratified deal elsewhere. So the dragons slowing things downs slows down our ability to go to market for 2025 with Gutho’s $850k (or whatever it really is).
He has already been released. We're paying him NOTHING regardless of his current situation.

I still think he could have been a very handy left centre for us.

Shame the whole thing didn't pan out

Except we carried a half on our bench in case of injury - something we haven’t had the need to do since he left
FFS!! already a page of Legal and Pou going hammer and tongs and neither willing to give up. Both SHUT UP and we'll all call it a draw!!!!!

1 has huge wraps on him and 1 has bided their time in the lower grades and getting the necessary experience playing against seasoned players.
Unfortunately being stuck behind Dylan Edwards has been bad for him to be able to play first grade but also awesome for his development

His D will improve at the Pennys no doubt. He has great instincts and his take off is excellent. Brown will always be better defensively but Talagi will be a superior attacker I reckon. He was no good to us at fullback. I reckon 5/8 is his spot. One to watch for sure.

Dude come on. You’ve read a fluff piece in the Courier Mail and instantly compared it to what you’ve read about the Ryles first day…

We will have everyone at training when they are due to come back. If you are going to panic every day it’s gunna be a long preseason!

Give Ryles time, give the team time (at least to arrive FFS) and let’s just see what unfolds.

Also Madge reportedly coming in yelling and making everyone vomit on their first day in the Brisbane heat might get you excited but not everyone thinks that’s some kind of good thing these days… Have a listen to the Ryles interview he must state at least 5 times around the importance of pre season and culture.

Lastly, I mentioned I was told he thinks we have some terrific prospects that are real footy players (probably Melbourne player development rubbing off here) which is great but at no point did I indicate this negates us being heavily in the player market for class.

Relax please.
Very relaxed. They had pictures of the squad at practice and they had much more than 13 players there. Even Taupau, as a senior player, should've been due back in another week or 2 was there.

We all know why. We had a young dummy half coming through that's pathway would have been blocked by Reed staying.

The coach didn't want him here.

Why did we offer him a contract then?
A pretty decent sized one as well considering he was going to sign it until he changed his mind last minute.
