It's an even bigger risk than I first thought. I just had a look a Yongi's NSW cup stats and he defends at 76.2 %. That could be a problem and I'm now not entirely sure that there is much between Talagi and Yongi. Yongi could turn out worse with them numbers. 1 swallow does not a summer make.

Was 100% in his only Nrl game...

and fullbacks don't normally have high rates..

Gutho is 75, Edwards 82, teddy 80, Tommy 82.....

Thanks for that. Good to know. I was going to look up The Kings stats but cbf. I just assumed they were better than that. Still, it's something Yongi will have to work on.
Basically, if the defensive line in front of the fullback increases their efficiency then it means less pressure on the fullback. Confident Ryles and Moa understand that and will do a fair bit of work on spacing and positioning, which never really improved as it should have done .
Pressure is now on the R&R duo to get cracking, sign players critical to improving the roster, the next few weeks are critical ahead of training resuming full tilt.

How did Parra commemorate King Guffo's last home game for Parra? I guarantee Apis last game for the Tigers wont be like that.
So they plan to force him to honour the final year of his contract despite refusing to offer an extension? They are legally within their rights to do so.

I love a stat. But I'm not sure tackle efficiency is as important at fullback as it is defending in the front line

Yep. Where do you see that increased efficiency coming from?

You'd like to think so but without the experience of the King calling those defensive moves, that might take longer than we all would like.

Your position on the R&R duo is well documented. They can only try to get what is available on any given day and that situation is always fluid. They might be better off waiting to see what happens in the next few months of the silly season.

@Joshuatheeel has found out he's an 18 year old half/hooker who's already played 3 games of QCup for the Tweed Seagulls. Surprised the titans didn't have him signed up, it'd be odd for a non-NRL affiliated 18 year old who's played reserve grade to not have a contract somewhere.
He’s certainly hitting his milestones on time. Maybe we’ve offered a full time contract?

I wonder how much those painful negotiations are a byproduct of his competitiveness. It’s an unfortunate fact that professionalism, and especially under a salary cap, pits the players against the club. This is why I tend to hate the merkins. They can all f**k off.
And probably a byproduct of us not being able to offer 3rd party deals to shut him and his manager up.

Fair enough. I spose i should have said that lets just hope that whoever replaces the King is as good at making those last ditched trysaving efforts in defence as Clint was/is and can also organise the defence in front of him like he used to a few yrs ago.
