Rumours and Stuff

It is introspectively sad, but the childhood gloss of seeing the Eels or the NRL (and professional sports in general) as something more than a self-serving business has well and truly worn off thanks to this saga. Maybe it's for the best.

Why should there be any blame?

I'm so f**king glad mt club dudn't get stuck paying overs for a past it, dishonourable media stunt merkin!

We should be thankful our club never tabled an offer, and that Juda$ Hayne couldn't wait for something that was more reprssentative of his reduced value following two years away (see how Hoppa returned).

For someone who didn't want Hayne back, you seem to be really angry that he isn't coming back.

Again, the NRL apparently did not confirm the salary cap position

I have absolutely no faith or trust in Greenberg and his faction, they can continue to f**k our club and no one in the media will stand up to them. Probably because they are covering Slothfield at the same time and want to retain access to the head of the game
yeah it's a joke, the way the refs have treated us since the 12pts came off and then it's round 22 and they still have not told us how much cap we have next season. It smells bad but the media are not touching it.

It is not cynical to assume that Hayne wanted a stable club and more money. This is a business where loyalty means nothing, success is a bonus and money is what they get from you. There are exceptions to the rule, for example the Storms culture.

We need to move on and find some good players. We have 17 players signed for next season and need better ones than what we've currently got. We will see what the future for Parra brings.

He couldn't wait for our offer. But when he knew it was coming he made sure that he signed the Titans contract late last night so he could use that as an excuse....

Yeah easy to say there was no offer rather than to say that he took the bigger coin over his mates and club. So it's the Eels fault, not his.

Hayne is saying the reason why he has not signed with the Eels is because of us not him. He says that we need to do something about the Board.

I thought we had Jarryd ?
He's pissed we have smart operators running the joint finally. If we'd had an elected board beholden to members and fans they would have given him whatever he wanted. Mortgage the future for him yet again.

Not at all - this is a fantastic day!

I'm highly amused there are still peoplw that give Juda$ Hayne the benefit of the doubt in this...

Shit human being. Never coming back.

Who cares about the semantics, the result is the same and he had full choice over it.

We are in a completely f**ked up situation, and it is all our own fault. Don't blame him for not wanting to walk back into this shit show.

We'll see how 'past it' he is this weekend. You're kidding yourself. He's going to f**king carve it up.

bitter man- they have a shit squad - would elgey and taylor be costing a lot? or hurrell
Yeah both would be costing a fair bit, both were highly rated junior halves they would have had to outbid a couple of teams for their signatures. It isn't necessarily the cost of Hurrell for this season but it is funny how they were able to sign him whilst having those other players already at the club.
