Our backline is pretty good, but our halves are hardly settled and our fullback while talented will be a rookie. So our spine is hardly anything to get excited about ATM.

That had played before in the 20's and proved to one of the best halves combos of the last decade. Not even close to being comparable to where we are at for next year.

Manly also had an excellent ball playing forward in Stewart in the team and a centre like Lyon was a capable halves option.

Really? I reckon the quality of available hookers far exceeds the halves options for next year. As it stands the only realistic half options are Benji and Hastings. Hooker options include Farah, Baptiste, Rein (plod) possibly segy and if we had pulled our fingers out we could have offered Wallace a contract.

I did forget about Segs, actually. He'd be an absolute winner.

Bapiste is no better than what we have tbh, you could interchange him with Clydesdale in that Raiders side and lose nothing. Farah is cancer

Of course manly's side was f**ken good!! Just making the point while Gutherson / French are rookies, it's not different to the rookies manly had in 2011. Gutherson / French have probably shown as much / if not more then what Cherry did pre 2011.

But really until we know who our Normans half partner is going to be, we really have no idea.

As long as he doesn't sign another guy like Watmough for 4 years, a headcase like Foran and make him captain, an outside back on huge money like Jennings, release a potential origin player from our spine and an old bloke who has no attacking spark as our hooker we should be sweet.

Yep. Norman's biggest weakness is his kicking game. Our 7 (or 9) needs to be a great kicker. If we go into 2017 with Gutherson or Robson as his partner then our kicking game is up shit creek.
