Rumours and Stuff

League Live has him missing 6 tackles,no idea how accurate they are. From what i remember from the game he did defend better.
This is going to sound like I'm promoting a sponsor or something, but League Live duplicates NRL.com's stats, and NRL's stats are dreadfully inaccurate IMO.

There's a reason we're happy to use Champion Data for our stats - I just think they're way more accurate.

http://mc.championdata.com/nrl/

For the record they had Moses at 4 missed and 1 ineffective, which is much higher than we need. At the end of the day, I don't recall a linebreak or momentum coming from any of them - it just seems like Moses takes two goes at getting his man sometimes. It isn't ideal, but he's certainly not a turnstile.

This message is a paid advertisement for Champion Data. Kidding.

Wasn't sure if they were the best to go off.

Sweet, i'll check out CD in the future.

Hopefully Mitchy gets better each week.

clubs and coaches prefer NRL stats and use them http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...ob-to-afl-number-cruncher-20131130-2yiba.html

It is understood that contract will be renewed. So while Sportsdata can still claim to be the game's official statistician - and is also relied upon by NRL clubs and coaches - the stats on the NRL website will be from the part AFL-owned Champion.

Don't put your house on that Chiefy.
Period.

I can see BA wanting a non-stop worker to counter what he gets from the others at times.

1. French
2. Semi
3. Jennings
4. Taka
5. Gutherson
6. Norman
7. Moses
8. Alvaro
9. Pritchard
10. Vave
11. Ma'u
12. Moeroa
13. Brown

14. Scott
15. Meehan
16. Edwards
17. Mannah

I reckon by Round 18 barring injuries.

I would be switching Guth and French, Gutherson ripped at fullback, his size, his kick returns, his support play and his passing game was a real asset to have at the back, I think he needs to be our fullback moving forward.

I only asked a question and provided a fact. Obviously the fact was right but the question was neither right nor wrong.

And while I think Gutherson would be best (for us) at centre, I also think he would be good on the wing. He is strong under the high ball and his go forward is solid. So part of his game is wasted wherever he plays; his ability under the bomb is wasted at centre, his work rate is wasted at centre and wing, and his defence is wasted at fullback and wing.

So you think he would be best at centre? So do I. I reckon his stint in the halves will make him an even better centre - much as Hayne's stint at five-eight seemed to make him a better fullback; and Jamie Lyon's numerous forays at five-eight seemed to make him an even better centre. I can't wait.

I agree with you - but only if Bevan French doesn't improve sufficiently by the end of the year. A better French at fullback and Gutherson in the centres outside Moses would be just as good.

Of course, issue is that French just gets rag dolled way to much and gets us on the back foot from the start of every set, when he kick returns he needs to stop stuttering into the line cause he gets picked up and dragged back, He needs to pick a gap and run at it hard atleast that way he may be harder to handle.

I just think Gutherson's passing game, support play is suited at fullback and he was our best player week in week out at fullback.

I am happy to see if French improves but I think his size is gonna be an issue, unless he starts playing smarter and using his speed.

Maybe they're different for some other reason?

No they're different because they're done by different people. One of the guys who writes for us (ColMac) works for Champion, despise NRL's official stats (so they're obviously in competition). He often derides the work of the official site's poor accuracy.

That's originally why we used them, but to be honest, when I rewatch games I can't get close to the figures NRL comes up with, whereas Champion reflects how I see what has occurred. That might be just me, though.

Anyways, it mightn't mean much but we use Champion for that reason - accuracy.

You couldn't possibly be serious about putting Gutherson on the wing.

Gutherson would be best suited at fullback. Centres might be ok as well. His passing game would be wasted in the wing.
Bevan needs to step up his game. At this point if Taka started playing well and Jennings come back he is the weakest link.

Bevan needs time and to beef up again. He did a little from last year but needs to again. It will come with age.

With Semi we can get away with French. Once Semi goes thou pending who ends up on the wing it could be an issue.

Yeah but you said we need to drop Alvaro so you don't get a say anymore

What's wrong with Alex Twal.
He is still very young for a prop, 21 I think, and Cleary has obviously seen something in him to sign him on a long deal.

I'll make a bet with you Staggs. I'll bet Twal plays more NRL games than Alvaro will.

I'll even say, Twal plays more in 2018.

Cleary sees something??

Cleary is one of the most overrated coaches around. Did squat all at the Panthers after putting the broom through the place. I expect the same at Wests.
